After the Philippine National Open, he went down to Rank 33 from rank 40. 26 points more and he will be a contender for the Olympics.

Clinton Bautista established a new season's best of 13.98s and clinched 2nd place in 110m hurdles behind John Cabang who broke the National Record once again with a time of 13.37s.

Filipino long jumper Janry Ubas won the gold medal in the Men's Long Jump Open at the 2024 Singapore Open Track and Field Championships, PATAFA announced.

Gold - Philippines - 7.58m
Silver - Taiwan - 7.43m
Bronze - Singapore - 7.26m

Janry Ubas from Philippines to compete at the Singapore Open Track & Field Championships!

Ubas leads the Men’s Long Jump field with a Personal Best of 8.08m recorded en-route to winning SEA Games Gold last year. The 30-year old has a total medal tally of 1x Gold, 3x Silver and 4x Bronze at the regional championships - across both the Long Jump and the Decathlon.

Also in the field is Wen Hua-Yu of Chinese Taipei, who will provide stiff competition for Janry with a Personal Best of 7.93m.

JUST IN from the ASIAN INDOOR ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP in Tehran, Iran!

After a tremendous effort by Janry Ubas, he managed to open his season by earning a spot in the final 8 placing 5th overall and leapt 7.60 meters.

Unfortunately, he fell short of jumping over his Personal Best of 8.08 meters, established last year. As the Philippine Record Holder in Long Jump, he's aiming to reach 8.27m for qualification to the Paris Olympics.

Let's continue to cheer and support Janry Ubas, along with his Coach, Dario De Rosas - Philippine National Athletics Head Coach, as they aim for even greater achievements on the international stage.

Philippine Longjump Record Holder Janry Ubas is now fully equipped for his first International and major competition this year in Tehran, Iran on Sunday, February 18, 2024

"Coach Dario and I made sure i am in my best shape for the competition. We aim to leap better this time and hope to establish a new Philippine record as well."

A massive thanks to and Coach Sherwyn for the support and make sure i have the best fit for my competition. "Simpleng suporta ay nakaka-high morale knowing that someone values our effort to bring pride for our Country." said Ubas.

Our very own Janry Ubas will be competing at the 11th Asian Indoor Athletic Championships in Tehran, Iran on February 17-19,2024.

The Misamis Oriental native captured the long jump gold
medal in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games (SEAG), along with
a silver medal finish in the decathlon. Ubas set a new SEAG
record with an 8.08 meter long jump.

Janry Ubas established a new Season's best of 7.75m in Longjump to clinch the Gold medal during the Philippine National Games in Ultra, Pasig City.

John Mike Lera and John Marvin Rafols battled hard for the silver medal with the same jump of 7.36 meters however, Lera leap a multiple 7-meter jump to secure the 2nd place.

There were five 7-meter jumpers in the game that brought the heat for the final 8 - 4th Mandaluyong City and 5th Aries Toledo.
