▫️Hotrod LA x Vans Vault OG Style 36 ◾

Vans Vault has tapped West Los Angeles shop Hot Rod LA for their first collaborative footwear pack, releasing this week. The shop is already a popular Vans and Vans Vault dealer on the West Coast, so it’s surprising that this is the first time the brand will be bringing its own perspective to the design table. Appropriately named “First Love”, the release will feature two classic silhouettes: an OG Era LX and OG Style 36 LX. Providing even more context around the collaboration’s name, both pairs are inspired by Hot Rod’s owner’s first pair of Vans that he received as a birthday gift in 1983.

The Epoch LX is known for its Flying V logo, so Blends has altered the recognizable branded mark by crafting it from signature bone graphics. This white leather logo sits on top of a premium shaggy black suede upper with fringed eyestays, while a white heel tab and white waxed laces provide stark contrast.

Released summer of 2014, this collaboration between hip-hop collective 'Odd Future' and skate lifestyle label VANS featured a full suede upper with white accents finished off by OF's pink vulcanized sole with the "Golfwang" branding seen on its back heel, tongue tag and artistic insoles. One of the best masterpiece by Tyler, The Creator.
