A feast for for the family, we got to try various dishes. Why wait for Christmas to enjoy delicious ham? DPK’s Hamonado is an in-between of sweet and savory. Each slice of ham was thick and juicy — just mouthwatering. This is served with a rich and tangy pineapple sauce, which balanced out the salty and smoky taste of the meat. The Pork Aceitunas promises a full array of flavors. Stewed pork loin in olives, chorizo, and more, it’s a hearty dish with loads of texture. Besides the distinct taste of olives and tender pork, it’s also very pleasing to the eyes because of its festive colors of vegetables and meat. Next is the everlasting, a meatloaf that can be enjoyed either steamed or fried. DPK’s version is cooked to perfection, with each bite being moist, tender, and an explosion of umami goodness. Hard to describe flavors, but oh so delicious! Last is the Kare Kare. In our opinion, Kare-Kare is a personal dish where every family has their own version. DPK’s is thick, rich, and savory, with heightened peanuty notes which we absolutely loved. This is so good, you could do without the bagoong, but it’s worth highlighting that DPK’s signature bagoong alamang also hits the right spots and adds depth to the dish!
