Finally I get to taste the “KAKAIBANG ICE CREAM” from - Home of the Sili Cream. The first time I get to taste this sili ice cream was 7 years ago in Legazpi, Albay that’s why am sooo glad they are finally here in Manila 😃 The flavors I was able to taste were:
SILI - this of course is my favorite and brought back memories of my travels to Bicol
TINUTUNGAN NA BIGAS tasted really like as described, so simple and yet so yummy!
MALUNGGAY is another favorite as I love veggies.. the bitter taste wasn’t there at all and perfect to my taste 😁
PILI is surprisingly good with bits of pili nuts. This one became a big hit with my kids tho!
CARAMELADO was gone in minutes as it became the crowd favorite!

Merienda Time!! I remember BAKED SUSHI TRAYS have been a craze during the lockdown last year and everyone started making their own with different ingredients and cooking style! And that includes one of the best Baked Rice I’ve tasted from .gonzales !! So honestly good!
Kani Mango is japanese rice topped with creamy goodness of japanese mayo, mango and kani sprinkled with the usual furikake and sesame seeds for that added umami! (This one is my favorite)👌
Baked Sisig is calamansi rice topped with their signature pork, scrambled egg, chicharon and chilis! This one is very good and flavorful!
Kimchi Bulgogi is kimchi rice topped with beef bulgogi, ssamjang, melted cheese and topped with spring onions. This one is likewise delish and flavorful.
And for some sweet treats, the Banana Almond Cake is another lovely treat as it has crushed almonds in it!

SALTED EGG SQUID NOODLES.. this is a twist on Celebrity Chef recipe of Salted Egg Squid.
I had the privilege of joining the Lenten Recipe Livestream Cooking Demo of Alternative Foods Corporation https://www.facebook.com/afcphils2017/ in collaboration with using Pacific West seafood products together with .eatss and with of course as the official food photographer.
I just thought of adding noodles (instant) to the prepared sauce as that was the only ingredient I had available on hand 😁 Full recipe below or swipe left to see the full video.
Ingredients
🦑250g Pacific West Dusted Baby Squid
🦑7pcs salted duck egg, yolks
🦑5tbsp butter, unsalted
🦑5cloves garlic, minced
🦑125ml all-purpose cream
🦑1tsp white sugar
🦑1tsp salt
🦑1tsp chili powder
🦑10pcs fresh curry leaves
Procedure:
✅Heat oil in a deep pot and deep fry the squid until golden brown

For the sauce:
1. Mash the yolk and set aside
2.Place a deep pot over low to medium heat, toss the butter in and melt stirring occasionally
3.Add the yolks into the pot and mix well
4.Add the cream, sugar, chili powder, and salt and pepper.
5.Allow to simmer for about 1 min
6.Blend the mixture until smooth
7.Bring back to the pan and toss the curry leaves in
8.Adjust seasoning as needed
9.Toss with the squid and cooked noodles.
