Danggit is the local Philippine name for a fish also known the rabbitfish or spinefoot. It has been a popular and is well known as a product of Cebu. It is usually fried to crisp and often consumed and dipped in vinegar.

Pagdadaing from the root word "daing" was initially used as a method of preservation since salt prevents bacteria from growing, which enables fish to be kept for a long time.
Dulong is translated Silver Fish in English probably due to its color. It’s a very tiny fish, barely an inch and quite transparent in appearance. In the Philippines, a range of small, frequently immature fish species caught with a fine-mesh scoop net are referred to as dulong. It has been a delicacy on the Filipino table for years and a significant source of protein in coastal regions.
