STAROCEAN GIVES BACK TO TAAL SURVIVORS WITH #Sagip The management and employees of StarOcean Manning Philippines, Inc., recently dedicated their selfless resources to help out pack and distribute donations to the survivors of the recent Taal Volcano eruption which happened last January. Repacking the goods was done in a very efficient, productive manner which surprisingly turned out to be a fun activity for the employees. The goal was to prepare buckets of goods to benefit approximately 250 families.Each bucket contained various canned goods, breakfast items and toiletries. Beyond that though, four teams carefully mapped out and shortlisted evacuation centers least visited by prospective donors. In a period of 4 days, ___ evacuation centers were visited in Cavite and Batangas. The teams met with various DSWD representatives and barangay officials who were closely monitoring the welfare of the families affected by the calamity. They even had the opportunity to converse with some of the evacuees and listened to their stories when the volcano erupted. The CSR project was then called #Sagip, or ‘rescue’ in Tagalog. The program hopes to reach out to those who are in need of basic necessities for living and a listening heart. This also coincides with February as the ‘love month,’ when StarOcean promotes love for family, the less fortunate, the country, and one’s self. StarOcean is determined to help those who need it the most. This was made possible through the concerted efforts of its principals and employees making #Sagip a successful endeavor.
