PHILHHDA Product Development Project

The official designer is Mr. Manny Dacanay the owner of Ducks Industrial Design Works.

He is a practicing Industrial designer and illustrator based in Manila. Also, a model maker for various design and advertising agency, both traditional and computer aided modelling. Instructor/Lecturer of Industrial Design in De La Salle-College of St. Benilde and UST.

Finished Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design (1989) as a scholar and Masters of Fine Arts (2014) with a Magna Cum Laude award both at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and had further studies in Germany from 1993-1994 co-funded by Steinbeis Stifftung, Stuttgard, Germany and Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft e.V.

The PHILEXPORT Holiday Decors and Giftware Sector noted the significant pandemic-related changes in global demand which have disrupted businesses and at the same time, opened new opportunities.

Officers of Philippine Chamber of Handicraft Exporters & Artisan, Inc. (PCHEAI) and Philippine Lifestyle, Homestyle and Holiday Decor Association (PHILHHDA) present in their recent sectoral meeting continue to be optimistic though, working on mostly promotions- and marketing-related programs and projects to take advantage of these emerging market leads.

To further generate growth, PHILEXPORT sector Trustee in charge, Milagros L. Lacson, encouraged the groups to continue their market scans, domestic and export, committing PHILEXPORT support within its modest resources and programs. Collaborations among the groups were also emphasized, including for product development and promotion activities.

Trustee Lacson likewise lauded proposed projects like the “FilGoods” of PHILDHHA, but also noted refinements needed to help ensure sustainable success.
