It's been a year already since the pandemic started. Long as it may seem, there are still misinformation about the proper mask to use for a more effective protection against the virus. A fight about masks online even led to lawsuits!

So, are you aware of the recommended masks to use?

According to the 2021 guidelines released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the following types/criteria of masks are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:

1. Medical/Surgical Masks
2. Masks that fit properly
3. Masks made with breathable fabric
4. Mask made with tightly woven fabric
5. Masks with two or three layers
6. Masks with inner filter pockets

On the other hand, the following are NOT RECOMMENDED:

1. Masks that do not fit properly (with large gaps or holes)
2. Masks that are made of material that are hard to breathe through
3. Masks made of loosely woven fabric
4. Masks with one layer
5. Masks with exhalation valves or vents
6. Wearing a scarf/ski mask

Always remember to wear proper masks, Shakers. We can put an end to this pandemic if we work hand in hand.
