Conducted regular pre-marriage orientation and counseling (PMOC) sessions with three (3) would-be couples by the PMOC team partners: Ms. Edna C. Lizada, from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office; Ms. Criselda J. Gorriceta and Ms. Eugenia G. Sinco, from the Municipal Health Office; and Ms. Lalaine Kay E. Decado, from the Population Office, with the full support of the Local Government Unit, headed by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Laurence Anthony "Luigi" G. Gorriceta, at the Multi-Purpose Counseling and Family Development Center.

RP aims to develop parental approaches to ensure stronger families, and stronger communities, for a stronger nation, in line with the development mantra of MoRProGRes Iloilo!

On behalf of the Provincial Population Office, the Iloilo Provincial Population Office - Municipality of Pavia would like to thank our health partners from the Rural Health Unit of the municipality, Ms. Jeanne Mi Chelle Jomento, Local Population Officer-Designate, and Ms. Emma Sunico, Registered Midwife, for inviting Ms. Lalaine Kay E. Decado, Population Program Officer I assigned in Pavia, to conduct the lecture on responsible parenthood, Ms. Mary Ann Cambalo, Population Program Officer I of Leon, on parenting adolescents, and Ms. Angel Grace Siaton, Population Program Officer I of Alimodian for the assistance in profiling adolescents to form 1 together with Ms. Rhea Selose, Population Office Staff.

Special thanks also to Hon. Nemia T. Lachica and barangay officials for their unwavering support in the implementation of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) 2023-2028.

The activity aimed to educate and empower teenage and postpartum moms to make choices regarding their reproductive health, improve the lives of families, and promote sustainable human development for the nation.

2024 REGIONAL POPULATION CONGRESS

Thirty-five (35) participants, composed of selected barangay service point officers (BSPOs) and barangay officials of the Municipality of Pavia, attended the 2024 Regional Population Congress at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City with a theme "Digi-Pop: Embracing the Era of Digitization and Data Appreciation Towards Sustainable Population and Development" that aims to promote the modern way of data banking and the importance of such in development planning for a sustainable population and development.

The Federation of Population Officers and Workers in Western Visayas (FPOWWV) Inc., spareheaded the congress through the Iloilo Provincial Population Office and Iloilo Provincial Population Office - Municipality of Pavia.

CAPACITY BUILDING ON PEER HELPING STRATEGIES ✨

Nine (9) students of Pavia National High School successfully completed the three-day training as peer helpers at the Goldberry Lite Hotel, Iloilo City, namely:

The Iloilo Provincial Population Office - Municipality of Pavia conducted an updated course on basic demography for twenty-seven (27) barangay service point officers in eighteen (18) barangays of the Municipality of Pavia, headed by Ms. Lalaine Kay Evangelio-Decado, Population Program Officer I.

The activity was conducted to accelerate the performance of BSPOs in consolidating and analyzing data to recommendable interventions for program planning from barangay to municipal level.

The office would like to thank Mr. Barry Basiya, Population Program Officer I of the Municipality of Leganes, for his assistance as the subject matter expert.

Ms. Lalaine Kay E. Decado, the Population Program Officer I, paid Punong Barangays a courtesy call and turned over the 2023 Barangay Population Profile to the following barangays: Cabugao Norte, Pagsanga-an, Anilao, Purok IV, Purok III, Purok I, and Ungka I.

The appreciation goes to our unsung heroes, the barangay service point officers of the above-mentioned barangays, for heartily giving their time and effort in coming up with comprehensive data and a reliable source of information. Adolescent Health and Youth Development (AHYD)

Aspiring Teen Center Peer Helpers showcased their best efforts to a screening panel composed of Faculty (Teen Center Coordinator), and Provincial Population Office personnel yesterday in Pavia NHS "Teens Nook" Teen Center.

The Provincial Population Office coordinates these screenings regularly in partnership with the Recipient Schools to guarantee that the heart of Teen Center Program, the Peer Helpers, are able, willing, and motivated-to become co-duty bearers, in service to their kapwa youth.

Setting Peer Helpers in place for voluntary service annually, ensures the Teen Center Program's "heart" beats continuously, aligned with the Movement for a Robust Progressive Globally Competitive and Resilient Iloilo ( Iloilo )
