Kami po sa National Children's Hospital - Section of Developmental Pediatrics ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month ngayon buwan ng Pebrero.
Base sa pinakabagong impormasyon mula sa Center for Disease Prevention, may isa sa bawat 700 na bata ang ipinapanganak na may Down Syndrome o Trisomy 21. Ito ay isang kondisyon sa genetic kung saan may karagdagang kopya ang chromosome 21.
Ang mga batang may Down Syndrome ay kadalasang delayed sa pag abot ng kanilang Milestone kung ikukumpara sa kanilang kaedaran.
Gayunpaman, makakamit din nila ang parehong milestone bagaman sa kanilang sariling panahon at ang pagkamit ay maaaring iba para sa bawat bata.
