Today marks a pivotal moment for the residents of Brgy. San Andres in Sto. Domingo, Albay as they celebrate the turnover of their new Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facility.
This newly constructed facility features a potable water system with seven communal tap stands, two restrooms, and five hand washing stations. Such an enhancement is poised to significantly impact the lives of 300 households and around 800 students of San Andres Integrated School (SAIS) by improving access to clean water and promoting good hygiene practices, contributing to better health outcomes and an improved quality of life.
The successful realization of this project is a testament to the collaborative efforts of Mercury Drug Foundation, PBSP, the LGU of Sto. Domingo, and the active participation of local residents.
The event is graced by Councilor Lyra Gregorio, SAIS Principal Purisima Balbin, representatives from PBSP and Mercury Drug Corporation, and Adette Dizon, Program Manager of MDFI.
