SUPEEER is about me growing up being fascinated in fictional stories in comics and anime, especially the stories about heroes and what special ability or super powers they have.
There’s a reason why superheroes dominate pop culture. It’s exhilarating to imagine having the supernatural ability to take on any adversary, save the world from destruction, and restore the balance of good and evil.If you’ve ever found yourself thinking “What is MY superpower,” This is my take on having a super power and giving it to my characters.

KEEM Mamaril unmasks her truth about life drawn from a pivotal discussion with her mentor about the Book of Ecclesiastes. This book from the Bible, written by King Solomon, enunciated the futility of seeking fulfillment in pleasure. He described the unfulfilling nature of life—that even after having everything any person could only dream of and having all of what this world can offer, there was still a missing piece in his heart.

But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.
In her first solo exhibition, KEEM wields the influence of repetitiveness, which exposes the emptiness and patterns associated with perpetually chasing after the unsatisfying rewards of life displayed in a familiar format, resonating a curated life.
The compositions employed saturated, bold, and loud colors, an engineered technique designed to hold one’s attention.
She employs a deconstructive visual presentation of traditional ads, inspired by her childhood interest in weaving new narratives using images with individual significance from magazine cutouts. These illustrations, combined, form symbolism and metaphors that depict our entanglement in worldly pursuits.
While the exhibit may initially seem like a visual feast, one’s experience becomes interactive, meditative, and introspective as enlightening interplay and meanings gradually unfold.
KEEM is a contemporary artist from Antipolo. With her degree in Fine Arts and Design major in Advertising, crystallized by her first-hand experience in advertising, her acquaintance with the industry is evident in her artworks. She draws inspiration from themes related to the digital age, consumerism, and capitalism.
After exploring various media and styles, her advertising background has helped refine the distinct use of vibrant colors harmonized with a playful collage
