Please stop buying live animals as gifts. Guinea Pigs can be a 7+ year commitment and not a disposable Easter present. They deserve all the love and care youโd show a dog or a cat. Research is key if you ever want one... but the fact is, you do not want one, you want TWO! They are herd animals and get easily depressed being alone (there are of course exceptions, but that is rare). To many peopleโs surprise, they are extremely vocal, curious, playful and require way more space than you think to be genuinely happy... a pet store cage is NOT enough space. Please be smart and responsible this Easter.
