Sa structure ng pamahalaan, may mga tinatawag na Constitutional Commission/offices na independent mula sa tatlong sangay ng gobyerno--Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches.

Ang mga opisinang ito ay itinatag sa bisa ng 1987 Constitution bilang checks and balances ng gobyerno mula sa labis na paggamit ng kapangyarihan ng estado.

Upang magawa nang maayos ng mga Constitutional agencies ang kanilang mandato, pinagkalooban ng Konstitusyon ng fiscal autonomy ang mga opisina gaya ng Philippine Civil Service Commission, COMELEC, Commission on Audit, Office of the Ombudsman Philippines, at Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines.

Kaya naman mahalagang manatili ang pagiging independent ng mga Constitutional Commission/offices upang masig**ong nababantayan ang anumang uri ng paglabag ng gobyerno.

We are happy to share the official posters for History Month 2021 with the theme, "Celebrating ."

In August, we continue to highlight the history of victory and humanity which our ancestors exhibited and which inspired Filipinos even today.

We also join our Southeast Asian neighbors, whose ancestors we have had an active relationship, in celebrating the 54th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The schedule of activities organized by the NHCP will be uploaded soon at its website (nhcp.gov.ph).

By virtue of Proclamation No. 339 (16 February 2012), August was designated as History Month "to undertake various activities given the richness and diversity of our nation’s history."
