Sa pagtutulungan ng Municipal Nutrition Council at Philippine Red Cross β Quezon Chapter naging matagumpay ang Blood Donation Drive na may temang βDugo mo Kadugsong ng Buhay koβ ngayong araw (July 15) na isinagawa sa Sariaya Sports Complex.
Layunin ng tanggapan ng MNAO sa pamumuno ni Mr. Reymundo D. Razon, Nutrition Action Officer, na mapabuti ang kalagayan ng mga high β risk pregnant women sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng sapat na blood supply na maaaring kailanganin sa panahon ng kanilang pagbubuntis at panganganak. Ilan sa mga mahahalagang maitutulong nito sa naturang benepisyaryo ay ang mga sumusunod: Pagtugon sa Emergency Situations: Ang mga babaeng may mataas na panganib sa pagbubuntis ay maaaring magkaroon ng mga komplikasyon tulad ng pagkakaroon ng hemorrhage (pagdurugo) na maaaring magrequire ng emergency blood transfusion.
Pangangailangan sa Anemia: Maraming mga babaeng buntis ang maaaring magdusa sa anemia, isang kondisyon kung saan kulang sila sa sapat na dami ng hemoglobin sa kanilang dugo. Ang pagkakaroon ng access sa additional blood supply mula sa blood donation ay makatutulong sa paggamot at pagkontrol sa anemia, na maaaring makabawas sa komplikasyon sa pagbubuntis.
Kasiguraduhan ng Kaligtasan ng Blood Supply: Ang pagtanggap ng blood donation mula sa mga regular na blood donors ay nagbibigay ng assurance na palaging may sapat na supply ng dugo para sa mga pangangailangan ng mga high-risk pregnant women. Ito ay mahalaga lalo na sa mga sitwasyon kung saan ang pagkuha ng tamang blood type o specific blood components ay kritikal.
Suporta sa Maternal Health Programs: Ang pagbibigay ng blood donation para sa mga babaeng may mataas na panganib sa pagbubuntis ay nagbibigay ng suporta sa mga programa ng kalusugan na nakatuon sa pagpapabuti ng maternal health. Ito ay nagbibigay ng pagkakataon para sa mga komunidad na magkaisa at magtulungan upang matulungan ang mga kababaihan na nasa kritikal na yugto ng kanilang buhay.
Bahagi ang blood donation drive na isang aktibidad ng Sariaya sa pagdiriwang ng National Nutrition Month 2024 na may temang, βSa PPAN, Sama β Sama, sa Nutrisyong Sapat, para sa Lahat.β
Samantala ayon kay Mr. Romulo Gregorio Jr., Volunteer Registered Medical Technologist, mahalaga ang pagdo- donate ng dugo para sa mga lalake at babae. Aniya dahil hindi nagme-menstruation ang mga kalalakihan, tuwing magdodonate ang mga ito ay napapalitan at nalilinis ang dugo nito, ganoon rin sa mga kababaihan. Pagbabahagi pa ni Mr. Gregorio Jr. marami ang nadudugtungan ng buhay kaya naman paalala niya sa mga tao na mali ang paniniwala pagdating sa pagdo β donate ng dugo, βHindi po totoo na nagkakasakit ang isang tao matapos makapag β donate ng dugo dahil nababawasan ito, mas nakakatulong po ito sa kalusugan natin dahil nagre β regenerate po ang ating katawan ng bagong dugo.
Paalala naman niya sa mga nagnanais na mag β donate ng dugo, kinakailangang healthy, may sapat na tulog o pahinga, kumain muna bago ang blood donation, walang maintenance at tattoos. Habang ang interval naman aniya ng pagdo β donate ng dugo ay minimum of 3 months and maximum of 6 months, kung saan maaaring apat (4) na beses sa isang tao o dalawang beses (2) sa isang taon. Ibinahagi din niya na karaniwang nangangailan ng dugo na humihingi ng tulong sa kanilang non β government agency ay ang mga dialysis patient, mayroong leukemia, mga naaaksident at mga inooperahan.

Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Nutrisyon, isinagawa ngayong ika-15 ng Hulyo mula 8 ng umaga hanggang 5 ng hapon sa Sariaya Sports Complex ang βDugo Mo, Kadugsong ng Buhay Koβ, isang blood donation drive na inisyatibo ng Municipal Nutrition Action Office. Katuwang sa nasabing aktibidad ang Rural Heath Unit, Nutrition Council, at Red Cross - Quezon Lucena City Chapter. Layunin nito na higit na matulungan ang mga high-risk na mga babaeng buntis at iba pa na nangangailangan ng dugo.

THE FIRST BNS (Barangay Nutrition Scholar) MONTLY MEETING IS NOW HAPPENING (January 31, 2024) AT RHU SARIAYA CONFERENCE ROOM. THE MEETING IS LED BY THE PRESIDENT OF BNS MS. RICA BELTRAN TOGETHER WITH MNAO REYMUNDO RAZON AND MNPC ARLENE PALABRICA.
LAST JANUARY 19, 2024 MS. TJ LINDO OF PDOHO QUEZON, MNAO Reymundo Razon, DR. LYNDON ALBAY, MS. ANA ATIENZA TOGETHER WITH THE MNAO STAFF CONDUCTED A SAM VALIDATION AND MONITORING AT BRGY. SAMPALOC 1, SAMPALOC BOGON, MANGGALANG 1, CANDA, AND BALUBAL.
Last November 13, 2023 our MNAO Mr. Reymundo Razon gave the award to the Best BNS and BNC. The Best BNS is Ms. Jeanette Chavez of Brgy. Balubal, 1st runner up is Ms. Romarica Beltran of Brgy. Sampaloc 1, 2nd runner up is Ms. Melca Godoy of Brgy. Bucal, 3rd runner up is Ms. Lucia Oblefias of Brgy. Poblacion 4, and 4th runner up Ms. Guadalupe Valdoria of Brgy. Mamala 1. The Best BNS received 7,000 cash and the Best BNC received 20,000 cash.
Last November 09, 2023 Ms. TJ Lindo of PDOHO Quezon, Ms. Geraldine Moreno of PHO/PNAO, MNPC Arlene Palabrica together with the MNAO staff conducted an assessment of the breastfeeding station in Barangay Sampaloc 2, Poblacion 4, Sto. Cristo, Bignay 1, Manggalang Kiling, Canda, Bucal, CastaΓ±as, Tumbaga 2, Montecillo, Balubal, Mamala 1, and Lutucan 1.
Ms. TJ Lindo of PDOHO, Quezon together with Ms. Arlene Palabrica, MNPC, Dalla Albitos, Evangelina Nucom, Kyla Claire Manalo and Aaron Aldea of MNAO, Mr. Glenn Dalwampo of MDRRMO, Mr. Carlo Dalwampo of MAO, Ms. Anabelle Atienza of RHU conducted a NUTRI-EDUCATION AND SAM VALIDATION at Brgy. Guis-Guis Talon, Brgy. Sampaloc 2, and Brgy. Concepcion 1 last October 12-13, 2023.
Ms. Tracy Joyce Lindo of PDOHO Quezon together with MNAO Staff conducted SAM validation and monitoring at Brgy. Concepcion 1, Brgy. Sampaloc 1, and Brgy. Balubal last September 15, 2023.

2023 Nutrition Month focuses on affordable food!
The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Technical Committee approved the theme for this yearβs Nutrition Month campaign: βHealthy diet gawing affordable for all!β. The NNC Technical Committee unanimously agreed on the need to support efforts that will enable Filipinos to have greater access to healthy, safe and affordable food. All are enjoined to share the theme and plan for activities in July and beyond to support Filipinos to have access to affordable diets.
