Tambak Celebrates Blue Sapphire Foundation:
People Flocked, Myriad of Prizes Raffled.

In retrospect | With the great effort and collaboration of the people and the barangay officials, the 65th founding anniversary of the barangay Tambak was successfully orchestrated on January 29, 2024, with the theme "Sulong Tambak: 65 na taon ng pag-unlad, pagmamahalan, at tagumpay."

The celebration of the barangay's foundation gathered almost 2000 people from seven (7) puroks, vying for the raffle prizes that consisted of 12 pieces water buckets, 12 pieces water basin, 4 pieces water jug, 5 pieces basket with hanger, 3 pieces frying pan with a ladle, 3 pieces electric kettle, 15 sacks of 5 kilos of rice, 10 sacks of 10 kilos of rice, 3 pieces keypad cellphone, 4 pcs. electric fan, 15 sacks of 25-kilos rice, a piece of Durabox clothes cabinet, and a cow for the grand prize.

"First time ko maranasan itong ganito ka saya na fiesta...syempre sana saki makakwa sa sapi a grand prize," stated Ms. Carolyn Moday, a residentee of the barangay, in an interview. According to her, it was her first time experiencing this kind of fiesta, and she also denotes that she hopes to win the cow in the raffle draw.

In a separate interview, Zarri-an Baguil, the secretary of the barangay, expresses how overwhelmed she is seeing how the people flocked to the venue and participated actively in the activity.

"Tuwang tuwa lang ako at nakaka-overwhelm pala makita na masaya ang mga kabarangay mo...maraming salamat sa mga tambakenos sa mainit na pagtanggap at pag dalo sa ating pyesta dahil lahat nito para sa inyo, at sana napasaya namin kayo" said Baguil.

Further, some of the municipal board members of the municipality of Lambayong were present at the aforementioned festival, namely, SB Arnold Guerrero, SB Duane Jade Abalos, SB Popot Recinto, SB Jay-E Bagandingan, and SB Abdulatip Mangindra. Also, the ABC President of the municipality and the private secretary of the municipal mayor, Norhato Sanday and Anoh Delna, respectively, attended the anniversary.

The conduct of the anniversary was spearheaded and initiated by the 1st kagawad, Yassere Sanday and approved by the councils headed by Brgy. Chairwoman, Gemma Usman. According to the FB post of Sanday's wife, at first, Kagawad Sanday was terrified of the possible outcome of the event especially that this is the rebirth of the barangay's fiesta after its long years of hiatus and it's his first time doing this as a newly-elected official.

Pertaining to Kgwd. Sanday, "Pero siyempre nung 𝐔𝐍𝐀 kinabahan ka, tanong mo pa nga kakayanin at maging successful kaya? Magugustuhan din kaya ng mga tao ang mga activities na gagawin at mga papremyo na ipamigay?... Somehow EVERYTHING [falls] into its rightful place. Meron mang konting lapses pero sa kabuuan, masasabi kong naging SUCCESSFUL ang selebrasyon." said Myrissa Sanday.

Furthermore, the event was jam-packed by different performances, services, and competition. In the first half of the event, the audience were entertained by Singkit band and ASES faculties and staff through their concert and dance number, the Lambayong Mobile also offered their services by offering "Oplan: libreng tuli para sa mga kabataan ng brgy. Tambak." The provincial livelihood center headed by Ms. Den Laurel also expressed their support by providing 1 thousand packs of locally made Kalabasa pancit canton to be shared and distributed to every puroks.

In the second half, each purok engaged in a friendly competition for cooking contest and table decoration in which eventually topped by Purok Malipayon as champion, Purok Mupak and Purok Pagkakaisa as 1st-runner up, and Purok Balayanin, got the 2nd-runner up, while, the 3 remaining puroks, namely purok Galay, Purok Centro, and Purok Mukalam received consolation prizes.

Meanwhile, in the evening, the Sanguniang Kabataan headed by the SK Chairman, Abraham Albento spearheaded the afterparty named SK Night. The event started with an introduction and was followed by runway modeling. After that, the night was filled with music and bubbles through the SK's mini concert and foam party, which lasted for 2 hours.

"Ang saya pala dito sa tambak kapag fiesta, Hindi ako taga rito pero ramdam ko Ang saya at pagmamahal ng mga tao na nakikita ko, lalo na nong foam party kasaya lang, kaya thank you, Tambak for making me experience this," said Chrislone Bantas, a tourist from kabacan.

In an interview with the barangay captain, she said this is just the start of many more activities for the people. She also admitted that they lacked preparation, yet they emerged victorious, and she promised that next year there would be more preparation and a much more organized event.
