This remarkable achievement was celebrated at the heart of Surigao del Norte Division, where pupils from all 13 districts came together to compete in a grand showcase of knowledge and creativity.

The event, held at Claver Central Elementary School, was more than just a competition; it was a testament to the dedication of these young minds. Before reaching the division level, participants had to battle it out in their own districts, where only the brightest stars were granted the opportunity to represent their districts on this prestigious competition.

Among these stars was Ram Lian P. Rebuera, hailing from Placer 2 District, who shone brilliantly in the contest. His coach, Jeadybenth L. Lipio, provided unwavering support and mentorship, sculpting a future innovator.

This event was made possible through collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Mines and Geosciences Bureau RO-XIII, united with the theme: "Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan."

TVJ FILES COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT COMPLAINT AGAINST TAPE, GMA

JUST IN: Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ) have filed a complaint for copyright infringement and unfair competition against TAPE Inc. and GMA network.

TVJ filed the complaint on June 30, 2023, after TAPE and GMA aired and replayed some episodes of Eat Bulaga without the trio's consent.

Today, July 12, 2023, TAPE and GMA received the summons from Marikina Court, requiring them to file an answer to the complaint within 30 days. (With reports from Cecille Suerte Felipe)

Mi-abot na sa 200 ka mga establisamiento sa Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte ang na-isyuhan og notices of violation tungod sa pag-operate nga wala’y environmental compliance certificate kon ECC.

Sigon sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources kon DENR-, migawas ang maong mga notisya human gikumpirma sa mga opisyal nga 83-porsiento sa mga tourism-related nga negosyo sa surfing capital sa nasud ang wala’y ECC.

Base sa latest data gikan sa DENR, makita nga 192 lang sa mga establisamiento nga nagrepresentar sa 17-porsiento sa 1,108 ka mga tourism-related businesses sa Siargao ang duna’y ECC samtang ang nahabiling 916 nga nagrepresenta sa 83-porsiento, nag-operate nga wala’y ECCs.

Sigon ni Environment Undersecretary Jonas Leones, wala’y rason nga ang maong mga establisamieno dili makakuha og ECC human gilusad ang DENR Services on Wheels sa maong isla nga nagtinguha pagtubag sa panginahanglanon sa mga establisamiento.

Ang maong mobile initiative usa ka one-stop shop nga maghatag sa mga komunidad og routine services nga dili na kinahanglang mu-adto sa mainland Surigao.

Pinaagi matud pa sa Project Transform ug sa DENR Services on Wheels, matag-karon ug unya nilang susihon ang mga establisamiento aron masiguro nga duna sila’y gihuptang mga importanteng permits aron maka-operate.

SWEDISH NATIONAL, GIARESTO SA LUNGSOD SA DAPA ALANG SA KASONG TRESPASS TO DWELLING

Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO) ----In an operation conducted by the local authorities of Dapa, a Swedish national was arrested yesterday, July 7. The arrest was made based on a warrant of arrest issued for the crime of trespass to a dwelling.

Police Colonel Laudemer M. Laude, Provincial Director, identified the male accused as Lars Mantilla Martensson, 24, Swedish National, temporarily residing at Purok 2, Barangay Union, Dapa, Surigao del Norte.

The accused, Martensson, was arrested yesterday around 3:30 PM in his mother's residence at Purok 2, Barangay Union, Dapa town, following a thorough investigation and surveillance operation by the local police.

The Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (MCTC), 10th Judicial Region, Dapa-Socorro, Surigao del Norte, issued the arrest warrant on July 6, 2023, with recommended bail amounting to Php36,000.00 for his temporary liberty for the crime of Qualified Trespass to Dwelling in Article 280 of RPC under criminal case number 1091.

According to the authorities, the alleged trespass incident occurred on April 28, 2023, victimizing his aunt in Barangay Union, Dapa town. The complainant claimed that the accused unlawfully entered her house under the influence of liquor. He destroyed the things inside the house, violating the law's provisions on trespassing into a dwelling.

"The case of Martensson serves as a reminder that no individual, regardless of nationality, is above the law. The authorities in SurNte are dedicated to upholding justice and taking appropriate action against those who violate the law, regardless of their background or origin," PD Laude said.

After his arrest, the Swedish national was brought to the local police station for documentation and processing.
