Special order delivered yesterday. She just ordered cupcakes to give to office mates for christmas. That's red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting and vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting. I dont really make customized order but I was feeling a little festive because, you know, Christmas. So i decorated the cupcakes a little to fit the season. The cupcakes are easy enough to make but decorating is another story. It's actually very tedious. Very time consuming and very delicate. Cooking, baking, working in the kitchen. It takes a certain level of skill to survive that. But the kind of finesse and patience it takes to decorate desserts, to be a cake decorator/artist, a pastry chef. That is a whole 'nother level. I see stories of home bakers getting scammed and getting complains na "masyadong mahal, home made lang naman" or "ganyan lang pala yan?". Its demeaning the efforts of the baker/chef that created that. Cupcakes palang ginawa ko mejo nauubos na pasensya ko. Pano pa yung gumagawa ng customized orders? It's humbling to realize how much effort is put into food especially the kind that takes a certain skill to make. Salute to home bakers, bakers and cake decorator/artists. Iba yung pasensya nyo. 💪💪
