FEATURE || "Journalists: A Catalyst for Change"
The ability to wield the pen is the ability to attain.
Among the echoes of voices and the smell of ink, the second celebration of Press Freedom Month was held at the DavNor Gymnasium. The dedication to the teachers and students allows them to explore the beauty of the journalistic journey.
Press Freedom Month is renowned for its collaboration with the Provincial, Information, Communication, and Knowledge Management Office (PICKMO). This annual event happens on the 26th and 27th of October every year. Different schools, colleges, and universities gathered together to showcase their passion for writing and broadcasting as they revealed the truth to empower.
In addition to that, there are 26 high schools where the teachers are the participants in the competition. Furthermore, 15 different colleges, and universities where the students are the competitors to showcase the power of their wisdom.
Little did they know that this event had a category for teachers, making it an ideal occasion for them to embody their skills in the field of journalism. Their pens would be the testament that the only thing matters for change is truth.
In alignment with Kuya Gov.'s words, which he conveyed through his executive assistant, stated that journalists are the torchbearers of truth, agents of influence, and the voice of the voiceless. This implies that journalists play a crucial role in shaping the truth, as simple words create a great impact.
In the pursuit of unleashing truth, words have the power to revolutionize a world full of misleading. Journalists lead the way to w**d out lies and amplify unheard voices, advocating for justice and nurturing society.
Everything that hinders, the journalists ponder!
