Being a student athlete makes one famous on campus. Being a multi-awarded athlete makes one an instant celebrity on- and off-campus.

Such is Jacob Isulong’s case—previous year’s High School Mixed Gender Basketball MVP and now Rookie of the Year and Season MVP as a college freshman playing for the MAAMI Men’s basketball team. Not only has he gained fans, he has also found himself a heartthrob linked to some of his female admirers on and off campus.

Unknown to everyone, his heart only throbs for one girl—Reece Alonzo, his former team captain from BRIS. He is dating the Berkeley heiress in secret, just as Reece has wished. But he longs to let everyone know about her, about them, especially since their first-year anniversary as a couple is coming up.

Will Jacob take the risk and reveal their relationship? Or will it end their love story even before anyone learns about it?

In Full Color: No White Flags is a sports anthology set in the fictional university called 'Berkeley-Reagan University'. The anthology was one of the books we launched last Sunday, 25 April 2024.

One of the stories is written by Mayumi Cruz entitled "My Purple Girl"

BLURB:
Marlon

When I transferred to BRU, I wasn’t expecting any change. Swimming was a passion that drove me to do my best in any competition, earning me fame and popularity. I didn’t think of it as anything other than a way of life.

But when I laid eyes on my purple girl, everything changed. Suddenly, my thoughts weren’t always about swimming or winning. Suddenly, my mind was filled with her. . . and the possibility of us.

But she turned me down for a reason that made me question myself.
Was it bad to make the most out of my passion for swimming? Was I wrong in doing my very best to win in every competition?

Because if I was, I may never have a chance at her at all.

***

Merlin

When I transferred to BRU, I was desperately craving for change. The past two years were traumatic and chaotic for me. I longed for escape, and I thought I got it in a new school with a new set of people. I vowed I will never allow myself to commit the mistake I made back in my old school.

But fate played a cruel joke on me.

The first guy able to spark joy in me after a long time of bleak sadness turned out to be the very kind of person I promised myself I will never get involved with again.
Was I wrong to wish that he’s not what he is? Was it too much to ask life for a total change?

Or . . . was it me who had to change?

"Halftime: Making the Move" by Miel Salva () was one of the books launched last Sunday, 25 August 2024.

BLURB:

Reece and Jacob find themselves cramming to learn the steps as dance partners for the Reagan Twins’ eighteenth birthday. But more than the dance sequence, they discover a lot about each other, drawing them closer together.
Thankfully, they don’t ruin the performance at the party. And as the event progresses, so do their feelings.

But are they willing to make the move and navigate through this new and uncharted phase together? Or will they just skirt around each other and treat every interaction as nothing but a school project they need to ace or a game they need to win?
