Propan TLC versus Propan Syrup
🤓Propan TLC
👨🏻⚕️non-Rx meaning reseta is not required although siyempre it is always best to have regular well child consultations pa rin kaysa manghula ka
👨🏻⚕️uses: "dietary supplement in children for optimum growth, strength & good health"
👨🏻⚕️Propan TLC syrup approved for use in children as young as 1 year old.
🤓Propan Syrup
👨🏻⚕️Rx meaning dapat may reseta
👨🏻⚕️appetite stimulant and vitamins
👨🏻⚕️uses: "Vitamin supplement to help stimulate & enhance weight gain. Nutritional support during growth & development. To prevent metabolic & nutritional deficiencies due to malabsorption, restricted dietary intake, physical or mental stress & trauma."
👨🏻⚕️2 years old ang minimum age ng ganitong klaseng Propan.

🤔🤓Facts and FAQs Series🤔🤓
Misuse of Antibiotics
🪨Bato bato sa langit ang tamaan magreview 😆✌🏻
🖤😡 1. treating viral infections with antibiotics
ex. cefixime for viral upper respiratory tract infections like colds, flu, etc.
😠effect: exposure to risk of side effects tapos HINDI naman bibilis ang paggaling since antibiotics, even strong and very expensive types like cefixime, do NOT work against viruses
🖤😡 2. antibiotics too strong or not strong enough
ex. cefixime is effective against bacteria called E. coli but it is not so effective against bacteria called Streptococcus... so kung bacterial tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus ang sakit ng bata, what is the logic of using cefixime
🖤😡3. too expensive
ex.
The post is about misuse and not a general hate post against strong and/or expensive antibiotics. May mga situations na kailangan ng strong and /or mahal na antibiotics.
👨🏻⚕️ solutions:
for doctors
🤓Please review even basic na mga sakit. Iyong ilang years mo nang ginagawa baka ilang years palang mali... ex. Are you certain na kapag yellow or green ang sipon or plema ay bacterial na agad? Saan mo iyan nabasa? Are you repeatedly diagnosing many patients with "bacterial URTI" despite all guidelines saying na that is not common?
for patients
🤓If your doctor repeatedly prescribes antibiotics for all consultations, lalo na kung laging same brand, isip isip and research research.

Our time with antibiotics is running out. Always seek advice of a healthcare professional before taking antibiotics.
🏥OPINIONS ON OVER-THE-COUNTER SERIES🏥
electrolyte drinks (Pedialyte 30) vs oral rehydration salts (Pedialyte 45)
Pedialyte 30
👨⚕️Ito ay kadalasang nirereseta namin for patients with fever and poor appetite.
👍provides some calories and electrolytes so better than plain water for children na walang gana magsolids
👎HINDI sapat ang lamang electrolytes para mapalitan ang nawawalang electrolytes ng batang nagtatae and/or nagsusuka -> unless hindi tolerated ang ORS + prescribed by a pedia after seeing the patient, HINDI dapat electrolyte drinks ang gamit for such cases
Pedialyte 45
👨⚕️Ito ay kadalasang nirereseta namin for patients na nagtatae and/or nagsusuka and ayaw or hindi makatolerate ng lasa ng ORS with higher sodium content like Hydrite.

Dr. Melissa Capinpin :
It is also good to delay coffee later in the morning once adenosine and cortisol becomes lower. Cortisol (stress hormone) is secreted early in the morning to prepare us during the day. Adenosine makes us sleepy and is usually high when we sleep, and gradually goes down before we wake up.
Caffeine is an adenosine blocker in the brain and promotes wakefulness. It binds more effectively once our body already shifted to daytime mode.
