In the 2021 Edition of Cocoa of Excellence Programme, Chocolate de San Isidro (CSI), Inc., a social enterprise based in Davao del Norte, Philippines, bested 235 cocoa bean
entries/samples from 53 origins/countries around the world, to land in the 50 Best Cocoa, winning the SILVER AWARD of Excellence, conferred on December 16, 2021. The selection by the Cocoa of Excellence program is done through processing the cocoa beans to cocoa liquor and undergo blind evaluation from cacao and chocolate experts.
The Cocoa of Excellence Awards celebrate and promote quality and diversity through a culture of excellence in the cocoa sector, building on our previous International Cocoa Awards. Cocoa of Excellence acknowledges the continuing legacy of previous Editions: these producers of excellence are the central part of the community striving for superior quality cocoa.
