Simbang Gabi: A Filipino Christmas Tradition
Misa de Gallo, also known as Simbang Gabi, holds a special place in the hearts of many Filipinos, marking the beginning of the Christmas season in the Philippines. The nine-day novena of dawn Masses is a cherished tradition that brings communities together in joyful anticipation.
As darkness envelops the early morning, the faithful gather in churches illuminated by soft candlelight. The air is filled with the sweet scent of p**o bumbong and bibingka, enticing the senses and awakening a sense of nostalgia. Families, friends, and neighbors unite to partake in the spiritual journey, a tradition that has withstood the test of time.
The echoes of "Simbang Gabi" resonate, weaving through the chilly air, as the priest leads the congregation in prayer. The Masses are a testament to the strong Catholic influence in the Philippines, with the devotion to the Virgin Mary and the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

All Soul's Day
Jn. 6: 37-40
Today's gospel is all about two important things: doing what God says and having faith. Life can get tough, and sometimes we forget to follow God's plan when faced with challenges. The struggles we go through might make us feel tired and hopeless, but if we pay attention to what Jesus said, we can find meaning and purpose in following God's plan.
The gospel teaches us to listen to God's will because it leads us to what's best for us. God knows what we need and what's good for us. Jesus, in the gospel, shows us how important it is to be obedient to God's plan. He sacrificed His life because He knew it was the best for us.
The gospel also stresses the importance of having faith in God and Jesus. Believing in Jesus is like having a ticket to enter God's Kingdom in heaven and enjoy eternal life. As we live, following God's plan and having faith in the Lord brings happiness in eternal life.
While we navigate through life and follow God's plan, let's not forget our loved ones who have passed away. We keep them in our thoughts and prayers, hoping they are already with the Father in heaven.

All Souls' Day is a Christian holiday observed on November 2nd. It is a day dedicated to the remembrance and prayer for the souls of the departed, particularly those believed to be in Purgatory, a temporary state of purification before entering heaven, in Catholic theology.
On this day, people often visit cemeteries to pay their respects to their deceased loved ones. They light candles and offer prayers for the souls of the departed, hoping to ease their journey toward eternal peace. It is a solemn and reflective occasion, and the use of marigold flowers and special prayers are common traditions associated with All Souls' Day.
All Souls' Day is closely related to All Saints' Day, which is celebrated on November 1st and honors all saints, known and unknown. Together, these two days form the Allhallowtide, a period for commemorating the deceased in Christian traditions.
The observance of All Souls' Day is a reminder of the belief in the communion of saints, a spiritual connection that extends beyond the boundaries of life and death, and the importance of praying for the souls of those who have passed away.

All Saint's Day 🙏🏻
Every year on November 1, many Roman Catholics and other Christians around the world observe All Saints Day, which honors all saints of the church who have attained heaven. All Saints Day is celebrated on the first Sunday after Pentecost in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
People have honored the dead since the beginning of Christianity. Pope Boniface IV allegedly established All Saints' Day in the seventh century. Many saints have their own feast days, but this day is dedicated to honoring all saints who have died and gone to heaven.
Prayer:
Blessed are you, O God, for you are holy, gracious, and good, the hope of all the faithful. Empower the meek and encourage the poor. Comfort those who mourn and fill humble hearts with gladness. Give food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, peace to the peacemakers, mercy to the merciful, and honor to the despised.

Dear Mary, help us to pray the rosary, so that we overcome, with serenity the trials and tribulations which satan inflict on us. Hail Mary these roses from our hearts are for you, because we love you so much. Roses of love and gratitude to make a garland for Jesus and you.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Church honors John Vianney, a modest parish priest, as one of its great figures merely because he was devoted. Pope Pius XI canonized John Vianney in 1925. He is the first diocesan priest who has ever been canonized. He is the patron saint of priests all throughout the world. John's life exemplifies the importance of both welcoming and witnessing to individuals who have turned away from God, as well as the power of reconciliation in mending and restoring their love for God. John selflessly served those who came to him at Ars until his death at the age of 73.

I love You, O my infinitely lovable God, and I would rather die loving You, than to live without loving You. I love You, Lord and the only grace I ask is to love You eternally.
