The Department of Education (DepEd) has fulfilled its responsibility by reminding school heads of their authority and duty to halt in-person classes and adopt modular distance learning during adverse weather conditions and environments, including but not limited to extremely high temperatures that could significantly impact classroom instruction and endanger the health and welfare of learners.

It is important for the DepEd to ensure that the order is being implemented to protect the health and wellbeing of students, and to take appropriate action if school heads are not complying with the order.
