EMR (Russian: Единая маскировочная расцветка (ЕМР) , romanized: Edinaya maskirovochnaya rascvetka (EMR); in English Universal Camouflage Colourway, is a military camouflage pattern in use by the Russian Armed Forces. It is sometimes referred to by the unofficial nicknames RUSPAT and Digital Flora. Designed and introduced in 2008, the EMR camouflage replaced the Flora camouflage pattern on the Russian military uniforms.

NWU Type III (originally codenamed AOR2)

The Navy Working Uniform (NWU) is a series of military uniforms that are currently used by the United States Navy (and some elements of the U.S. Coast Guard) for wear by its members. The NWU is a "working" uniform, which means that it is made to a more durable and utilitarian standard, thus being worn in lieu of more formal and delicate uniforms that might get unduly damaged or dirtied in the process of normal military duties.

Made from a ripstop nylon-cotton blend, there are currently two variants of the NWU in use by the U.S. Navy. They are the NWU Type II, which is primarily brown and tan and is designed to be worn in sandy and arid, desert battlefield environments, and the NWU Type III, which is primarily black and green in color and is designed to be worn in more temperate environments such as the contiguous United States.

The first NWU variant, known as the NWU Type I, was designed in late 2004 and began being used by the U.S. Navy in limited quantities beginning in late 2008. By late 2010, it had completely replaced most other "working" uniforms. Though the NWU Type I was originally intended for shipboard use, it soon was dropped from that role when it was realized that the uniforms were not suitable for such duties due to their lack of flame resistance, as fires are a serious threat to sailors aboard a warship. Instead, the U.S. Navy's sailors wear specialized flame-resistant coveralls when working shipboard. Due to its lack of flame resistance making it unsuitable for shipboard use, the NWU Type I was retired from use in 2019, being replaced by the NWU Type III.

The NWU Type II (originally codenamed AOR1) and NWU Type III (originally codenamed AOR2) is worn by specialized units such as the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Navy SEALs, Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsmen, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians and Seabees. NWU Type III is worn by Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen and by all other U.S. Navy members. Unlike the NWU Type I which was based on the BDU cut, both the NWU Type II and NWU Type III uniform cut were redesigned heavily to be more ergonomic. The NWU Type III has been issued to new naval recruits since late 2017 and completely replaced the NWU Type I in 2019 when the latter was discontinued and phased out of service.

Delta Force and DEVGRU were the first to field AOR1 garments, in 2006. The AOR1 was phased out in Delta by 2009 in favor of MultiCam, but kept the AOR2 whose predecessor pattern, the DG3A, they also have tested in 2005. AOR1 has also been used by the 24th Special Tactics Squadron.

Disruptive Pattern Camouflage Uniform (DPCU), also nicknamed Auscam, jelly bean camo, or hearts and bunnies is a five-colour military camouflage pattern used by the Australian Defence Force. Replacing the jungle greens used from WWII, it was developed and tested during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The DPCU has mostly been phased out of the Australian Army by the Australian Multicam Camouflage Uniform (AMCU), which uses colour palettes of the DPCU and an Australian-designed multi-camouflage pattern based on MultiCam, following suit to the U.S. Army replacing their Universal Camouflage Pattern for Operational Camouflage Pattern and the British Army replacing their previous Disruptive Pattern Material for Multi-Terrain Pattern. Despite AMCU being the current camouflage pattern of the ADF, DPCU is still worn in service by soldiers and many reserve units in conjunction with the new pattern as of 2021 and Echo Company at 1RTB Kapooka are still issued DPCU, along with AMCU, as of October 2021.

Flecktarn (German pronunciation: [ˈflɛktaʁn]; "mottled camouflage"; also known as Flecktarnmuster or Fleckentarn) is a family of 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-color disruptive camouflage patterns, the most common being the five-color pattern, consisting of dark green, light green, black, red brown and green brown or tan depending on the manufacturer. The original German 5-color pattern was designed for use in European temperate woodland terrain. A 3-color variation called Tropentarn (formerly Wüstentarn) is intended for arid and desert conditions; the German Bundeswehr wore it in Afghanistan.

ACUPAT

The Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) is a digital military camouflage pattern formerly used by the United States Army in their Army Combat Uniform. The pattern was chosen after laboratory and field tests from 2003 to 2004 showed it to provide the best concealment in many different operational environments. It beat ten other patterns (though UCP may still have been adopted without field testing against other patterns because senior military leaders liked it). Its pixelated pattern is similar to the MARPAT and CADPAT camouflage patterns used by the United States Marine Corps and the Canadian Armed Forces, respectively.

The Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE) is a self-contained, individual field ration in lightweight packaging bought by the United States Department of Defense for its service members for use in combat or other field conditions where organized food facilities are not available. While MREs should be kept cool, they do not need to be refrigerated. MREs replaced the canned MCI, or Meal, Combat, Individual rations, in 1981, and is the intended successor to the lighter LRP ration developed by the United States Army for Special Forces and Ranger patrol units in Vietnam. MREs have also been distributed to civilians during natural disasters.

The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF, Japanese: 陸上自衛隊, romanized: Rikujō Jieitai), also referred to as the Japanese Army,[2] is the land warfare branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces.

Jieitai BDU

Now for the one most everybody knows and wants. You may have even first seen it in the 90’s Godzilla movies. This pattern was introduced in 1991 and replaced the Fang and Type 65 uniforms as the general service uniform for the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force. Nicknamed “Jieitai”, the indigenous name for the JSDF, it is often referred to as “Japanese Flecktarn”, as it’s, well, basically a re-coloration of the German Flecktarn pattern.

Still in use today, the first cut of the uniform was called the Mk. 2 Camouflage Uniform. The Mk. 3 is the current cut, the only difference between the two are just minor details, such as closures on the pockets and cuffs from button to velcro and added calf pockets on the trousers. There’s no known movement to replace the pattern, and it is produced on a vast arrangement of uniforms and equipment, such as helmet covers, gas mask hoods, rucks, body armor, vests, webbing, pouches, flight uniforms and equipment, and much more.
