𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | The CENTRAL BICOL STATE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE COLLEGE of CRIMINOLOGY Extension Services Unit raises awareness of environmental preservation and conservation with a clean-up drive

Joris Van Erp said, "Sooner or later, you'll see that climate and environmental risks are part of your job, too." Taking the right approach in this situation is a challenge of our lifetime. In this manner, both the customer and the sector as a whole will be well-equipped for the future.

In connection with the celebration of World Environment Day last June 5, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Community Extension Service Unit conducted a community service today, June 10, 2023, at Cabusao Wetland and Critical Habitat, Cabusao, Camarines Sur, with the theme: "Awareness of Environmental Conservation and Preservation." The program was headed by Prof. Lelia Taya, Program Leader, Proponent, and Coordinator of Extension Services.

The program commenced with the registration of the participants for a clean-up drive, which included Barangay and SK Officials, BFP Cabusao, members of the Cabusao Protegant Youth Organization, Members of Fraternities such as the Tau Gamma Cabusao Municipal Council, Alpha Kappa Rho, Guardians International Incorporated, and Kabalikat Bikol 529. Ma'am Loida Longaza and Sir Jan Czar Nocete as the Proponent/In-Charge of Criminology Extension, together with some of the faculty and staff Ma'am Crissa Mel Baleta, Ma'am Ma. Kristine A. Serrano and Ma'am Mary Joy A. Cepriaso as the facilitators. The Clean-Up Drive and the discussion of the topics presented by the guest speaker were the two parts of the activity.

After the clean-up efforts, they returned to the site to wash themselves up, have some snacks, rest for a while, and listen to the program highlight. Ma'am Lourdes C. Bernaldez, LDRRMO of the Municipality of Cabusao, delivered her welcome remarks. After that, the guest speaker, Engr. Joey T. Moral, MAO Officer of DENR Cabusao, discussed the Awareness of Environmental Conservation, Philippine Environmental Month, and Preservation and Conservation of the Environment. While, Ma'am Lelia Taya addressed environmental rules and protection. Thereafter, Sir Jan Czar Nocete presented the awarding of a certificate and token to the guest. Finally, the program concluded with closing remarks by Ma'am Lelia C. Taya.
