"The Filipino is worth dying for."

Today, we commemorate the death anniversary of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., who was assassinated on August 21, 1983.

In accordance with Proclamation No. 665 issued by Malacañang Palace, the observance of Ninoy Aquino Day has been adjusted to August 23, 2024.

May we be reminded by Ninoy's wisdom and strive for peace as we remain united amidst the challenges and trials that our nation faces.

They are the BSHS Supreme Student Government (BSHS SSG) ‘23 - ‘24, the unified and highest democratic representative of the Benilde Senior High School student body. 

Beyond the myriad of letters sent to different offices 📧 and the hundreds of collaterals posted on social media 🤳, this group of young leaders have faced multiple criticism and challenges that could have brought them down. 

Nevertheless, with the support from each other, they were able to surpass anything and everything that was thrown at them. ⚜️ Proving their commitment to serving the Benilde Community— From monthly events to petitions and constituency check, this team remained consistent even through times of hardships. 🫡

A simple tagline that was used to end letters and emails; however, was truly personified and embodied by the six individuals who were entrusted with the titles of the Executive Officers. 🗳️

Over the Academic Year, these officers became the backbone of not only the BSHS SSG but also the Benilde Senior High School Student Body. Showing what true service and leadership really means– building a space of solace, where every voice is heard, valued, and understood. 🗣️ 

Their commitment was truly evident in their tireless efforts to enhance the student experience, always putting collective needs before their own. 🗯️ From organizing multiple SHS-wide events to actively participating in SSG meetings, the Executives consistently went above and beyond, demonstrating unwavering dedication to their constituents.

A home found within an ocean of announcements and meetings. 🌊

Despite the short-lived moment in the BSHS SSG, ID 2022’s Strand & Batch Representatives showcased their will and passion to represent their constituents. 🧑‍🎓⚡️

The Grade 12 Representatives worked through the night hours waiting for announcements to relay the information to the batch. The countless times running up and down from floors in Duerr Hall to Mutien Hall; the representatives displayed genuine loyalty to ID 2022. 

They may go on their separate ways, but they will always walk back to what they call “home." 🏠
