For today's entry, we will tackle about the right of students to be a journalist that can help the community. Student journalists, like The Chronicle of Harvard-Westlake, are given important protections under the First Amendment. The freedom of expression of students, as well as their right to inform their societies of relevant facts and viewpoints, has long been valued and maintained.

Good day ka-KKB! For today's segment, we have our Journalist of the Day, Maria Ressa. 🖋️

She is a well-known journalist worldwide, known as the co-founder of Rappler and for winning the Nobel Peace Prize 2021 for her efforts to safeguard freedom of expression in the Philippines. In addition, standing up for democracy and the freedom of press as it faces adverse situations and conditions.

She has been a very vocal critic that the youth believes in and stands up for.

We give tribute to one of the worst mass murders of journalists back in 2009, the Maguindanao Massacre .This is to give light to the heroic deeds of our journalists as they fight for our right to know and live the truth, heightening fairness and justice as always.
