For client Mr. and Mrs. A, this tiny house project nestled in the suburbs of Cavite has finally come to fruition after years of hard work and resolute perseverance. Having lived in a rental house in Makati for quite some time, they have decided to build their first home away from the hustle and bustle of the restless city. “We want a simple and minimalist yet unique house,” the couple explains in one of the meetings during the design phase. The compact dwelling measures around 76 square meters including the outdoor laundry area and dirty kitchen, and stands on a 40 square meter narrow lot. Clad with faux wood made of cement board and distinctive gray and black accents, the petite contemporary house which also features an exposed concrete finish for the main door stands out from the cluster of homes in the area. “People from the neighborhood would stop by, check out our house, and tell us, ‘This is lovely.’ It feels great,” according to Mrs. A. “We’re proud of what we’ve built.”
