Hello Philippine Community, Netizens, Gamers, .
We are raising awareness regarding .
We only a have less than 28 days (actually extremely lower than that) that this bill will be signed into law
Please read https://democracy.net.ph/vetosocmedreg/ for more information and the Petition/Change.org.

Full message from the group representative.
Hello GK Community.
In case you haven't heard, there is a recently ratified bill called the "SIM Card Registration Act". But the bill is flaw because of a last minute addition that turned it into the "SIM Card and Social Media Registration Act".
As a summary, the problematic area is that "social media" is poorly defined in Philippines law, that almost everything in modern online is covered, including twitch, facebook, discord, and any video game platform such as steam (since you can post comments). The bill aims to forbid the use of fictitious identities when registering accounts with a punishment of 6 years in prison and/or a fine of up to 200,000php.
For gamers, this is a problem as most of us uses pseudonyms. For streamers, our anonymity is something we take seriously of. For those who handle social media accounts, we will be required by law to permanently link our real world identity.
This is now a seriously flawed and non-constitutional bill because of the addition of social media.
More detailed information on the this can be found at the link at the end of this message.
How to stop the bill
Right now, the bill isn't law yet. But it will be after 30 days when the President receives the bill, or when he decides to sign it. The only way to stop this is for the President to veto the bill.
As of now, speed is of the essence. We don't officially know when Malacanang officially received the bill or when the president decides on the day to sign. But the people who started this awareness campaign is treating it as if it'll be sign soon.
What can we do about it?
There will soon be an public awareness and Internet protest campaign to be hosted by democracy.net.ph. But while it's not yet up, you can help by doing these:
1. Raise awareness like what we are doing right now. The more noise we make, the more likely the President would realize the bill is flawed. We are making the assumption that he has no idea of the harm this bill will bring.
2. Sign the petition/change.org found at the end of the link at the end of this message. If you are part of a group that can legally sign for support, you can email the organizers asking if they can include your group.
