Pterygium or "Pugita" - ito ay isang overgrowth na pinkish na laman na may kasamang ugat ng dugo sa ibabaw ng conjunctiva na maaring lumaki at matakpan ang cornea. Pinaniniwalaang ito ay sanhi sa sobrang exposure sa ultraviolet light ng araw.
Mga sintomas: Pamumula at pamamaga ng conjunctiva, panunuyo ng mata, pangangati, paghahapdi, parang magaspang na pakiramdam ng mata pag pinipikit, paglalabo ng paningin.
Anong puwedeng gawin: 1. mag suot ng sunglasses kapag lalabas ng bahay para proteksyon sa ultraviolet light ng araw. 2. Protekyonan ang mga mata sa alikabok sa pamamagitan ng pag gamit ng salamin o goggles. 3. Gumamit ng artificial tears/ eye lubricant kapag nanunuyo ang mata. 4. Magpatingin sa ophthalmologist sa inyong lugar.
