The Rural Health Unit of Amulung spearheaded by the Municipal Health Officer Dr. Ohba Sheila L. Suyu officially launched the Measles Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity with the theme "Chikiting Ligtas sa dagdag bakuna kontra Polio Rubella at Tigdas" at barangay Concepcion,Amulung,Cagayan.The Local Chief Executive Hon. Elpidio R.Rendon graced the said program together with SB member B**g Zalun, other LGU Staff and different stakeholders in the barangay.

The MR-OPV SIA is a program of Department of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and Healthy Pilipinas.This one month long activity that starts May 1-31, 2023 aims to prevent impending outbreaks of Vaccine Preventable Diseases and continous rise of measles in the country by protecting children 9-59 mos old against measless and rubella with the vaccination of one dose of Measles-Rubella vaccine, and 0-59 mos old against poliovirus type 1 and 3 with vaccination of one dose of bivalent Oral Polio Vaccine.

Pabakunahan ang ating mga anak upang sila ay maging protektado laban sa tigdas, rubella, at polio. Ang libreng pagbabakuna ay magsisimula sa 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑. ‘Wag nang magdalawang-isip pa at pumunta na sa pinakamalapit na health center sa inyong lugar.

The World Health Organization consultant Dr. Elias Alemu with the CVCHD National Immunization Program monitoring team visited the Amulung -Rural Health Unit last March 3, 2023.
This activity was conducted to assess and evaluate the implementation and National Immunization Program as to Accomplishments in the said program as to different Antigens. Moreover, they also highlighted and had an orientation regarding the upcoming MR- Supplemental Immunization Activity as one of the major activities on the month of May 2023.

The Rural Health Unit spearheaded by the Municipal Health Officer Dr. Ohba Sheila L. Suyu hosted the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony.

Valentine’s Day is the first thing that comes to our minds when we hear the word “February”. However, the season of love is also a celebration for what gives all the love-our hearts! That’s why February is declared as the Philippine Heart Month.

Philippine Heart Month was first celebrated in January 9, 1973 through the Proclamation No. 1096. Now, we celebrate this yearly to encourage public support for the advocacy of promoting cardiovascular health and wellness. Filipinos need to be concerned about this growing health issue due to the rise in the number of people having heart ailments in our country.

The LGU Amulung joined the celebration of the Philippine Heart Month during the Flag Raising Ceremony through the following activity.

Look| The Department of Health - Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development is conducting 2-day Basic Life Support Training to the Amulung RHU Staff. This training aims to equip the RHU staff with basic knowledge,skills and attitude to perform with confidence basic life support techniques to save lives.

The DMO IV sir Rodney Ramirez visited the MHO-Amulung to monitor the implementation of PINASLAKAS nationwide booster vaccination.
This activity aims to ensure that all relevant DOH units and stakeholders work together to reach
*90% coverage for primary series of the A2 population (Senior Citizen)
*50% coverage for first booster of the General Population

Moreover,he also encouraged the vaccinees to disseminate this activity to other Amulung constituents to avail their booster shot.
