Congratulations to the Provincial Government's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Office!

Their Producer-to-Consumer Program received the 2024 Presidential Award for Outstanding Development Partner in Providing/Improving Market Access. This recognizes outstanding MSMEs and development partners who have made significant contributions in various areas, including business climate, access to finance, markets, technology, innovation, and capacity building. On June 26-27, 2024, the first batch of Mataginayon a Progreso: Assistance to Start-up and Small Business to Continue and Strengthen their Business Operation had two-day training to capacitate and develop them.

There are eight (8) topics discussed with beneficiaries to educate them on various aspects of entrepreneurship and business management with expert speakers from MMSU, DOST, AND PICPA.

Topics are the following:

(1)How to Start Your Business
(2) Business Registration and Statutory Compliance
(3) Business Pitching and Negotiation Skills
(4) Visual Merchandising
(5) Customer Service
(6) Simple Bookkeeping
(7) Product Packaging and Labelling
(8) Food Safety and CGMP.

The 211 beneficiaries from different municipalities/cities received Php5,000.00 each on June 27, 2024, after the eight (8) modules. The assistance served and will be used to procure resource essentials for expanding their business operations.

These driven entrepreneurs are now equipped with the knowledge and tools to take their businesses to new heights.

The 4th Annual General Assembly of The Ilocos Norte Farmers, Processors, and Marketing Cooperative was held last April 29, 2024, at the Provincial Capitol Auditorium The chairman of the board of directors, Ms. Ermelyn Tariga, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Office and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) for their unwavering support in fostering the province's entrepreneurial environment. She also revealed the cooperative's recently created logo. Re-election of cooperative officers is one of the events held during the Annual Assembly. The Hon. Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos and Hon.
