SJC JHS English Club 2024-2025
Welcome to the official page of the SJC JHS English Club for the school year 2024-2025! 💚
English, although not the language native to us, holds the bridges of communication, the voice of our emotions, and the centerpiece to which this club has always revolved around.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to every Josephian and supporter of our page for always keeping up with our extravaganzas and supporting us every step of the way. You have never failed to support us digitally and physically--by engaging with our posts and buying our products during the field day. We want to thank each and every one of you for the support you’ve given us and for letting us share our efforts with you. Serving you has been an absolute pleasure.
As our time as the officers of the beloved English club draws to a close, we find ourselves filled with a wide range of emotions. We have created friendships and overcame challenges that made our bond grow stronger. This school year 2023-2024 was filled with exciting events and memorable experiences. It was a rollercoaster ride, our group chat was filled with chaotic brainstorming and late-night captioning of posts. It was full of jokes and conversations that brought laughter and smiles.
As we walk the stage, wear our medals, and sing our songs, we soon wave goodbye to those who've tagged along this journey. We walk our final doors not to leave those with us, but to continue our journey.
Learn from our mother Taylor Swift--SHAKE IT OFF 'cause you are absolutely FEARLESS! We, the English club, extend a warm adieu.
-ENGLISH CLUB officers of '23-'24, officially signing off.
Congratulations to one of our English Instructors, Ms. Zheri Anne De Leon for passing The Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) !
Being able to pass this test is a huge stepping stone as well as a reward of your ongoing dedication and commitment to provide your students the best education possible.
We, your English Club family, are truly proud of your success. Continue to thrive and keep going as you continue your journey! ❤️🩹

As our final exams📄 are now done, let us all give ourselves our well deserved break🛏️ and let’s greet one of our officers a happy birthday🎂🎂!
You may know him as someone who has tricks up his sleeves🤫 but you may also know him as someone who’s considerate and kind to others😊🤲. Can you guess who it is? We’ll give you 3 seconds! 3️⃣..2️⃣….1️⃣!
If you guessed it right, let us greet our treasurer💸, Neon Lee Patdo, a Happy Happy Birthday🥳🎉! The club would like to thank you for your hardwork💪, for the time⏳that you spent with us as it helped us create many memories💭with you.

What a wonderful day to end the month of April🗓️! We would like to greet this special someone, the person who was a backbone to the club, who helped in any way he could; Wayne Karl Guarnes, a Happy Happy birthday!💙💚
As you celebrate this special ocassion that only comes once a year, we, the English Club would like to thank you for your service. Without you, our bonding wouldn’t be the same. Through the time we spent together during preparations and practices, we were able to see how much of a hardworking and dedicated person you are. The way you manage your time 🕚 and balance your academic 📚 and personal life 👨👩👦 is admirable. But we are hoping that you won’t let this day be just like any other—full of responsibilities 🧑💻 and workloads 📖. We don’t celebrate 🥳 our birthdays everyday, so we wish that you’ll take this opportunity to relax and do things you enjoy—even just for today. 💆 After all, a person who’s as diligent 👨🎓 and passionate like you, deserves a huge rest and a great 8-hour of sleep 💤. Although you grew older today, we would like to tell you that you’re still young 🥰 and there’s so much more ahead of you; so take your time in doing things and do not rush as you go. ⏳️
Let this day be a reminder that you are loved 🥰 by the people who are around you—by your friends, family, and those whom you come across with.💓 Celebrate this day with full of happiness 😎 and let your sweet 1️⃣6️⃣ be joyful!
Happy Birthday to our Grade 10 Representative, Wayne Karl Guarnes! 💙
Have you experienced feeling so much anger from within but can’t find a way to express it properly? 😅 At least once in your life, did you have a strong negative emotion towards a situation or a person—and it just doesn’t go away❓️🤫 Well, what should we really do when we’re too frustrated about a certain thing? Do we just let it be? 🤔
Can’t figure out what to do with your exasperation? No worries 🥰, we’ve got you covered! 😉 How about you try to write it all out in a piece of paper 🖋, crumple or rip it into smaller pieces ✂️📄, and put it in a huge container? 🫙 Well, that is what our “Rage Bowl” 😤 booth is all about! 😫 The English Club is now providing a safe space 💫 for students to write 📝 their unsaid thoughts and words 🤐. In that way, all your negative feelings won’t bottle up inside your mind 🧠. Because regardless of the reason why we feel this negativity inside of us, we all surely want to be free from it, right? ❤️🔥⛓️
We’ll wait for you in front of room 106 starting next Monday. 🫣
( Note: All our feelings are valid—positive or negative. At the end of the day, we are humans. And it’s only natural for us to feel various emotions. What actually matters is how we will express it. 🫂🩹 )

You can dance, you can jive. Having the time of your life~ 🤩🎤
February 23rd is important not only to the Josephians, because it’s the day of e-card issuance, but also to our dearest auditor, Paola Stefani Ancheta—as she just turned 14! 🥳
On this blessed day 😇 of yours, we wish you a year filled with happiness 🥰, laughter 😆, success ✨️, good health 🧘♀️, and other great things in life 🍀. Let us also grab this chance to express our gratitude 🙏🏻 for your hard work and efforts within the past months 🗓. Your presence in the English Club has made it easier for us to work and do each of our responsibility. 💨
Things might seem to not go in your way sometimes—life can feel heavy and it’s hard to handle the pressure on your back, but always keep in mind that you don’t have to rush anything. After all, good things take time 🕑. You can go on your own pace 🌅 and your English Club family will always be here for you 🫂❤️🩹.
And with that, we are really hoping that you’ve enjoyed 🎉 this whole day with the people who are important to you 👯♀️. But hey, you still have a few more hours left! ⏳️ Let’s have fun like we’re young and sweet, shall we? 😉
You go, dancing queen! 😚

What comes to your mind when you see ‘February’ and ‘14’ together? 🤔 Do you perhaps think of color-coded clothes? 👚👖 Or the flowers 🌻 and chocolates 🍫 you’ll receive on this date? Thinking of these things bring us joy 🥰 and excitement 🥳 because well, it’s Valentine’s day! There are heart designs everywhere 💗 and love is being shared openly. 🫂 And, who knows what kind of gift will your secret admirer give you, right? 😉
But aside from Valentine’s day, there is one more important event that we should all take note of—The Ash Wednesday. This is the first day of Lent; a time where we should reflect on our sins and repent 🙏🏻. As catholics, we honor this day because we believe that Jesus died for our sins. The Ash Wednesday is traditionally practiced by fasting and wearing a mark of the cross on our forehead.
As catholic students, this day should be a reminder of God’s love 💓 and Christ’s sacrifices for us. Because it was through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection that we can be granted of eternal life. ✨️
Let’s all have a blessed Ash Wednesday, everyone! 😇

“And at every table, I’ll save you a seat, lover.” Lover - Taylor Swift 💕
Tick tock, tick tock, clock is ticking! ⏰ Can you guess what day it is today? 🤔 If you guessed February 14, then you are correct! ✅
Apart from today is Ash Wednesday, it is also Valentine’s Day! 💗
Valentine's Day is an annual event that falls on February 1️⃣4️⃣ and is meant to celebrate love and devotion between close friends and family members.👨👩👧👦 It is observed by exchanging cards 💌, gifts 🎁, and other tokens of appreciation with the people who have a particular place in your heart.❤️ It's a day to celebrate love in all its manifestations, romantic or platonic.
What are you waiting for❓Show your deepest appreciation towards your loved one, romantic or platonic matter.❤️🩹

We all know February 14 as the ‘Hearts day’ 💕, but what’s so important about February 8 ❓️🤔
Aside from the upcoming DSPC 📝, February 8 is also the date when one of our Grade 10 representatives was born 🥳. Let us wish Duke Ancheta a blissful birthday! 😁
The path you’re currently on might be bumpy and you feel like you’ll stumble — but know that you’ll make it ‘til the end with grace 🙌🏻. When life gets very hard 😵 and it overwhelms you, it’s alright to take a few steps back to breathe 💫. And once you’re ready to face the challenges 🪞 again, we’ll be here to support you 🫂. The English Club officers want you to know that we appreciate 🤗 your efforts and your existence. With that being said, we’re hoping that this day will be as special as you are. 🌷
Your birthday 🗓 signifies a fresh beginning ☀️ and a road 🛤 full of blessings. Welcome it with wide open arms! 🥰 May you celebrate with the ones who give light 🌟 to your life. Again, happy birthday, Duke! ❤️🩹

A teacher — a light that guides us on dark paths. Someone full of wisdom. And a wonderful blessing to us students. ✨️
What makes them so special and close to our hearts?
We learn a lot from our dear teachers 👨🏫 — starting with reading to writing the alphabet, to counting up to 🔟, and finally to our lessons 📚 this school year. Can you still remember 🤔 your teacher during kindergarten? How about Ma’am/Sir who made you love writing? 📝 Let’s recall the time when you said that you wanted to be just like them when you grow up. Nostalgic, right? 🥹
Admit it or not, our teachers have a huge impact in our lives. They’re not just people whom we see almost every day, or ones we look up to because of how passionate they are about their profession. Teachers are our second mothers 👩👦 and fathers 👨👦 at school. Some might be strict or serious, and other teachers already look friendly at first glance. But despite their differences, all of them are the reasons why we treat school as our safe place and second home. 🏡
As we gather together to celebrate 🥳 The Catholic Teachers’ Day, The English Club would like to thank 🤝 each and every hardworking teacher who are always by our side to guide us with love. ❤️🩹
We are grateful 😇 for your unconditional love 💫 and support towards your students; for encouraging us to stand up everytime we fall and always being proud with our achievements — big or small. Thank you for being our first best friend in school. 💚
Let us all take the opportunity to greet our teachers 👩🏫 — not just the current ones, but especially those whom we haven’t talked to in a very long time.

🎵 Cause even if I look everywhere, your colors caught my eye and you’re my favorite sight to see 🎵
Indeed, because an art gallery could never be as unique as you! 🖼️✨
Make loud noises as we celebrate a special day for our Grade-8 representative, Aithan Delos Santos! 🥳🎉
The English Club officers are deeply grateful to have been given the chance to bond with you and see what kind of a fun person you truly are. 💚
Not only does your birthday represent a new start and a door to more opportunities; It is also a reminder of how much you’ve positively changed throughout time. It shows that you grew into a person full of experiences, memories, and knowledge. We hope that you’ll carry these along with you as you face the uncertainties in life. 🫶🏻
Your English Club family is wishing you a blessed and joyous birthday. Cheers to more memories with you, Aithan! 🍻

Regardless of what we are looking forward to this Christmas ☃️—may it be someone’s text message 💌 or the gifts 🎉 that we’ll receive from our godfather and godmother, let’s all be reminded of what Christmas really is. On this date 🗓️, we give our most sincere appreciation to a very important person whose presence has never failed to make us feel at ease 🥰. An empowered young lady who is capable of doing marvelous 🪄 things. The one behind all the successful events 🎉and plans of the English Club 23-24. Can you guess who is it❓
Well, she is THE moment and she’s no other than 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗭𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗝𝗲𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀! 💚
When asked to describe Zandella, some will say that she’s a reliable, sincere, thoughtful, loving, and sweet friend; while others might perceive her as a resilient, hardworking, and wise student. But to us, English Club Officers, not only is she an inspiring role model, but also a definition of 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿. 🫡
For the past months, our English Club president has motivated us to do our responsibilities with passion 🙌 and love ❤️🩹. Her words of wisdom 🗣️🧠 were simply both a lesson and a guide as we go along this schoolyear. Most especially, it was her leadership 👥 that made us able to manage the club with grace 💃. She is the reason why we share a special connection as a whole. 🧩
And she turns 1️⃣6️⃣ today, we would like to give thanks and honor 👏 from the bottom of our hearts. We all wish her nothing but good health 🧘♀️, genuine happiness 💫, more years to inspire others 🤧, and a bright future ahead. ✨
To our club president, one call away, and best friend, happy birthday! We love you! 🫶

🎶 It’s sportsfest szn and all the students be playin’ 🎶
Yes, it’s that time of the year! 🗓
After being loaded with school works 📖 and requirements 🗂, what do you think all Josephians need❓️🤔
Definitely a break 🧘♀️ and a chance to show that we are capable of doing many things. That includes our skills in sports 🏐, cheerdance 🕺, and board games 🎲. It’s about time we make use of all of them, don’t you think? 🤪
Throughout this week, let’s allow ourselves to take it easy 😇, enjoy with our friends 👥 and teachers 🧑🏫, get a lot of sleep 💤, and maybe...cheer for attractive and skillful players. 😉
For awhile, let’s not mind the deadlines 🖥️ and instead cherish our time 🕰️ with other students. Because it’s not like we can always have a fun event like this. ❤️🩹
Since intramural is approaching, The English Club is once again curious. 🤔 How are you feeling about the upcoming event ❓Are you already counting how many hours are left? ⏰ How happy 🥰 are you to finally take a rest from all the academic pressure? What will you plan on doing? 🙆♀️ We would love to know! 💋 Kindly interact with us and share 🔄 our post.
Regardless of what you feel 🤗 or what games you will play this sportsfest 🤾♂️, we know that all Josephians are ready and geared up! 🤝
So The English Club officers are wishing that we all have a great time in playing and cheering. 🥳

🎵 And you’ve got a smile that can light up this whole town 🎵
Before we wrap up and end this “Reading Month” 📖, let’s join our hands together and give a round of applause to The English Club officers— for successfully holding their remarkable event last Monday. 👏
As you may know, the officers spent most of their time ⏰ practicing their chosen song 🎸 and dance 🎶🎶. They had to sacrifice their personal time in order to be prepared for the special day. Most were exhausted and even sick 😷; but at the end of the day, smiles full of happiness were plastered on their faces. The officers were still positive 🕺and energetic 🤸🏻♀️ despite the challenges they faced while practicing. And so, their spectacular performance is the fruit of their own sacrifices and hard work. 💚
A job well done, English Club officers! 🥳 Your efforts totally paid off. You are an inspiration to many Josephians and many are surely looking forward to seeing your beautiful faces on stage again. ✨️
‘Til we shake it off again next time! 😚

🎵 What a journey it has been. And the end is not in sight, but the stars are out tonight 🎵
The Reading Month is almost over! Now let’s have a short recap on our events throughout this month. Shall we go back for a bit? 🤭
The English Club officers were occupied and busy with monitoring the contestants of Spelling Bee 🐝 and Spoken Poetry 🗣📜 last November 15. They have witnessed how the students proudly lifted their chins up and showed their hidden talents. It was a delight and a huge honor 🙇🏻♀️ to see Josephians perform and compete confidently—with a wide smile and bright expression on their faces. 🥰
However, not only the contestants had such beautiful smiles, but also the officers who assisted them. Smiles that are from excitement 🤗 and enjoyment 🤪, despite having a loaded schedule 📚. So, let’s give recognition 🎉 to each and every officer of The English Club who lent a helping hand to the teachers to make the events possible. Their presence indeed had a huge impact in making things go smoothly. ✨️
Kudos to our English Club officers for giving such efforts to bear good results 👏. And also, congratulations for discovering ❓️🔍 that they make a pretty good team of creative poets. ✍️
May a lot more activities that involve cooperation and teamwork 🤝 come in our way! 🤎

The upcoming spelling bee for grade year levels are just around the corner! It will be held on November 9, 2023 at 4:10-5:10 pm. And aside from these, we hope that all participants will carry their knowledge along with them as they go on the battle to represent their respective section.
Good luck and Godbless, Josephians!

The English club 💚
What’s up, Josephians❓
Oh wait! We should be the one asking you. What do you think is up? 🤔
Time flies by fast indeed because after the long wait, the English Month is finally here! And as promised, fun activities are coming around.🧠
Do you perhaps like poetry? How about performing? If you do, then this grand event is meant for you! 🤭
One of the activities that the English Club prepared is Spoken Poetry. Join now and show us your incredible talent! But wait ✋ There's more! Your Spoken Poetry must be a work of yours. Not from google, not from the internet, but from your own mind and heart.
Make sure to take note of the important details—the date, time, location, and requirement. We are looking forward to see a lot of students participate; and witness how their hidden and amazing skills will be brought out.
See you around! 💚
