The Archdiocese of Washington is set to ordain 16 men to the priesthood, an increase of 10 compared with 2023.

According to the archdiocese, the Mass of Ordination will take place June 15 at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The Mass will be livestreamed on the archdiocesan YouTube channel.

The ordinands this year include a former ER doctor, several who served in the armed forces, and a former D.C. police officer. Last year six men were ordained, according to the Catholic Standard.

Local parishes throughout Maryland and D.C. are hosting Holy Hours in the weeks prior to the 2024 ordination, and Catholics are invited to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for the men who will become priests.

In 2022, 10 men were ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Washington, and in 2021 just one man was. https://bit.ly/3yWCCO6

Parish Priest Campaigns for Priestly Vocations at San Roque High School

Fr. Abenson Martirez, the Parish Priests of Holy Family Parish, San Juan, Bato, Camarines Sur campaigned for priestly vocations at San Roque High School, Bato, Camarines Sur.

Twenty three male students took the free Holy Rosary Preparatory entrance examinations (first screening).

The passers will be qualified to participate at the Second Screeining on May 4-5, 2024 at the Holy Rosary Preparatory Seminary, San Jose, Camarines Sur.

Vocation Campaign at Pili National High School

The Archdiocese of Caceres Commission on Vocations and the Conference of Caceres Seminarians campaigned for Priestly Vocation on March 11, 2024 at Pili National High School, Pili, Cam. Sur. The seminarians talked about vocation in general and priestly vocation. They shared their vocation story and seminary life experiences.

Eighty six Grade 12 male students took the Holy Rosary Preparatory Seminary entrance examinations. The passers will be qualified to join the Two-Day Second Screening on May 4-5, 2024 at the Holy Rosary Preparatory Seminary, San Jose, Camarines Sur.
