Eyy! it's National Clean Up Day 2024! πŸ€™

Sustainable Environment and Enterprise Developer for Communities (SEED4COM) together with Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), and National Clean up Day Coalition Philippines, inaanyayahan namin kayo na makilahok sa paparating na ika-sampung National Cleanup Day ngayong September 21, 2024, araw ng sabado.

Welcome to Ecobricks Philippines

Ecobricks Philippines was created to address the plastic pollution and solid waste management problems in the country, the Philippines being the 3rd ocean polluter of the world. The purpose is to minimize plastic wastes going to the landfills and eventually into the oceans.

An ecobrick is a plastic bottle packed to a set density with used, clean and dry plastic to achieve a building block that can be used over and over again. They are used to make modular furniture, garden spaces, walls and building structures. It is a low-tech way that individuals, communities and companies can start immediately towards the transition from use of too much plastic to zero plastic waste. The ecobricks concept is based on the technology developed by the Global Ecobricks Alliance (GEA) Movement. The GEA continuously provide technical support and research and development through its open source website: www.ecobricks.org.

Ecobricks Philippines has partnered with various sectors all over the country to replicate proper ecobricks making and implement ecobricks projects. It has directly empowered and increased ecological awareness of community members through direct participation in capacity development workshops.

The movement is under the environmental programme of Sustainable Energy and Enterprise Development for Communities www.seed4com.org to make sure plastics will not harm our biosphere and introduced in the Let’s do it Philippines movement for the nationwide one day cleanup all over the country since 2014.
