Congratulations Chair Ermelita V. Valdeavilla were here to support you for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment
We're excited to introduce Ms. Ermelita V. Valdeavilla as the new Chairperson of the PCW! ๐
Chair Ermie has a rich history with us, having started her journey as a Program Officer at the then National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW). Her technical competence, dedication and leadership saw her rise to the role of Executive Director, where she spearheaded initiatives involving gender mainstreaming, anti-VAW advocacy in local government units, financial protection for women, increased women's participation in government service, and anti-sexual harassment mechanisms, among others. Her stint in NCRFW was put to halt as she ventured into international development work. She has 22 years of work experience with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (UN Women) in Philippines, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Aside from gender equality and women's empowerment, her expertise include Results-based Management, donor relations, Strategic Planning and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
Welcome back to the Commission, Chair Ermie! The PCW family is excited to continue working towards gender equality and women's empowerment under your leadership.
