BREASTFEEDING IN AN SSC

Feeding babies on the go entails practice. If you are not that confident, best to wait until they have neck control.

Basically, it's really lowering everything until the baby reaches your bosom. Support with the other hand. As babies grow up, they will learn how to nurse on their own while inside the carrier - as long as they can reach the breast.

Do you enjoy stretchy wraps? They are a fave when it comes to newborns! But yes - we know getting and using a stretchy wrap can get overwhelming.

Long tails with stretchy wraps, but you hate them being on the floor!

And then there are the hybrid stretchies, but getting the right size is a pain. Oh, and you also cannot share with your husband if you two have different body sizes!

And then there is the issue of the fabric being too hot (nylony and plasticky) or too stretchy (too much spandex!)

We have the perfect solution for these things, but we are just road-testing it and making sure it is safe (a crucial material is safety-tested - certified by a 3rd party lab) and able to withstand up to 8 to 10kg of cuteness and can still give you the proper support! Here's a question that I have been meaning to ask: Do you mind the color of your wrap or carrier and your baby's gender?

Do you not want to wear a "feminine" color for your baby boy, like pinks and purples? And vice versa, do you not dress your baby girl in "masculine colors" such as blues or greens?

7-day-old check-up time!

While most carriers state a minimum weight of 3.5kg or 7lbs, in reality, the height really dictates if your baby fits well in a carrier or not.

Some babies are heavier and may fall within the minimum weight, but they might not fit comfortably in a knee-to-knee setting in a carrier. Likewise, some babies are tall and can fit comfortably even without reaching the minimum weight.

Remember: ALWAYS USE YOUR BEST JUDGMENT. If you feel something feels off, or until you are confident to babywear, defer. Also, it wouldn't hurt to ask!

I've always stated that as parents, Zima only carries products that we believe in, that we actually use, and that we advocate for - which is why even if you ask us about other brands, we tend to diffuse those questions since we can only speak for our brand and can only guarantee the brands that we carry.

I might give you a short comment on other brands that I have only personally used (because I have been a babywearing addict and our stash ranges anywhere from 20 to 30 carriers, ring slings, and wraps), but never about something that I have not personally used or tried. What should your baby look like in the carrier? Ok lang bang nakabukaka si baby?

Contrary to what others think, yes - ganito po ang itsura ng bata sa loob ng carrier. Bakit ganito? Because this is the most ergonomic and comfortable position they are in. Notice that when you wear your baby, BUONG PWET NIYA ANG NAKASAPO. Hindi tulad ng ibang carrier na nakasabit sila sa singit, these ergonomic carriers act like a hammock, supporting the baby's bum from knee to knee, and their whole back.

When in doubt, ask yourself: san ba ko mas komportable as a person, sa nakaduyan yung buong pwet, o nakasabit ako sa singit? ;)

Also, yes - this is the proper height to babywear your little one!

Nagkalat itong murang-murang baby carrier na ito na akala ng marami, eh nakatipid sila, setting aside their baby's SAFETY. Bukod sa nakalambitin, oo NAKALAMBITIN, hindi nakaupo si baby sa ganyan, very risky dahil anytime without you knowing eh pwedeng mangyari ang mga ito:

Lumuwag ang strap
Mapunit ang tahi
Mabutas ang tela

Ending: Bagsak si baby, iiyak, matataranta ka.
Eh pano kung nabagok ang ulo? Eh pano kung unconscious na agad?

O kaya naman dahil sa higpit o maling position, hindi siya nakahinga, nakita mo nangingitim na.

Sino sisihin mo 'nay? Yung seller? Yung manufacturer? Walang iba, kundi sarili mo. Kasi nagtipid ka masyado. Kasi nakiuso ka. Kasi hindi mo inalam at hindi ka naging maalam sa babywearing na akala mo okey na basta mai-angkla mo siya. Kasi nagpadala ka sa "akala mo..."

Oh, long term effects tayo. Andiyan ang hip dysplasia kay baby. Andiyan ding sasakit balakang at balikat mo dahil hindi distributed properly ang weight niya.

Gusto ko talaga mangalabit ng nanay sa mall. Sa simbahan. Sa supermarket. Everytime I see babies worn on that, I pity them. They can't complain at all, tinitiis na lang yung ngalay.
Please wag magtipid sa ganitong bagay, may dahilan kung bakit mahal ang mga legit and SAFETY-TESTED baby carriers. Mag-malong ka na lang o kumot gawin mong ring sling kesa ganito. At please, wag maki-uso. Hindi fad o fashion statement ang babywearing 'nay, na kung kailan mo lang feel gawin eh okay na. Rampa ka na agad!??
