Sa pagdiriwang sa National Children's Book Day Celebration (NCBD), Ang Makati City Library at Education Department ay maglulunsad ng Book Mobile sa Barangay na may temang "Ang Kwentong Dala ng Book Mobile sa Makabagong Panahon: Tara Nang Magbasa ng Sama-sama" sa July 3, sa Barangay Bangkal Covered Court.
Ang Book Mobile sa Barangay ay lilibot upang palaganapin ang pagmamahal sa pagbabasa at mapalawak ang edukasyon ng mga bata sa pamamagitan ng iba’t ibang materyales at aktibidad. Layon din nito na itaguyod ang kamalayan sa kultura sa pamamagitan ng mga kuwento at aklat.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay leads the ceremonial opening of the new Makati City Central Police and Fire Stations on Monday.
The new facilities are part of the local government’s initiative to provide enhanced safety and security services to their citizens.

Ceremonial Opening of the New Makati City Central Police and Fire Stations

Cong. Luis and Mayor Abby Campos, Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, Cong. Kid Peña, and the city councilors, led the continuation of the Rosas ng Sampiro Festival 2024 at Circuit Makati Events Ground.
The festival's main attraction was the live, competitive performances from public elementary and high schools, and barangay clusters. Each group showcased dynamic and creative renditions of stories about the Virgen de la Rosa de Macati.
San Antonio Elementary School, Makati High School, and Cluster I, composed of Barangays Bel-Air, Dasmariñas, Forbes Park, Magallanes, San Lorenzo, and Urdaneta, were hailed as champions, each receiving a P250,000 prize.
The Rosas ng Sampiro festival was originally scheduled last June 23 at Ayala Ave., however, it was postponed due to bad weather conditions.

Mayor Abby Binay-Campos focused on the role of families in promoting public health and community wellness at the "Strategies for Integrating Holistic Wellness into Public Programs" forum hosted by KonsultaMD.
At the panel discussion, Mayor Abby emphasized the city's family-centered approach in promoting health and wellness in the city. She explained that families are central in addressing health issues early and fostering healthy habits at home for lasting well-being.
The mayor also mentioned the need for preventive medicine, and constantly listening to constituents to meet their healthcare needs.
The KonsultaMD event highlighted the critical role of accessible healthcare platforms in enhancing public sector initiatives as well as improving healthcare standards in workplaces.
Makati has partnered with KonsultaMD to provide 24/7 online medical consultations to all city government employees.
Mayor Abby Binay- Campos was a distinguished guest at the opening of the Indonesia Expo 2024 at Glorietta 2.
The event showcased an array of Indonesian products that are making their mark in the Philippines market as well as traditional music and dance.
Indonesian Ambassador Agus Widjojo, Agus Trenggono, Consul General of the Indonesian Consulate in Davao, and Mr. Martin Pandapotan from the Indonesian Embassy were present at the ceremony.
The expo is open until Sunday, June 30, 2024.
The city government of Makati today participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) by perfoming a functional exercise of a magnitude 7.2 earthquake at Makati City Hall.
According to Mayor Abby, these drills help build a safer and more resilient Makati.

For the 2023-2024 cycle of the OPCC, 359 cities from 48 countries participated, of which 62 finalists were selected. In the Philippines, the cities of Makati, Baguio, and Tagum were the top 3 finalists based on their reported climate data.
The top finalists were measured against rigorous criteria that included: ambitious climate targets, ability to meet upcoming challenges, and whether the city has a holistic climate action plan and how closely it aligns with the city’s goals.
“Studies have shown that cities are among the biggest contributors of greenhouse gases and so it is also at the city level where solutions must come in the form of appropriate environmental policies and climate action plans. Sa pagdiriwang ng National Children's Book Day (NCBD), Ang Makati City Library at Department of Education ay nagsagawa ng isang storytelling activity sa University of Makati bilang paghahanda para sa nalalapit na National Children's Book Day Celebration.
Ang kaganapan, na may temang "Ang Kwentong Dala ng Book Mobile sa Makabagong Panahon: Tara Nang Magbasa ng Sama-sama," ay nagtatampok ng iba't ibang aktibidad na inihanda ng Makati City Library. Kabilang dito ang isang Read Along Trail, interactive storytelling sessions, Plingo App para sa digital reading, at Rolling Mini-Library na magdadala ng mga libro direkta sa mga bata.

Mayor Abby expressed her heartfelt congratulations to Edmayelle V. Alforja, a Makati scholar who recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Applied Physics program at the University of Santo Tomas. She lauded Edmayelle for her dedication and hard work in her studies, emphasizing that she is an example and role model to other Proud Makatizen youth. Mayor Abby also took note of Edmayelle’s bright future, noting that she has already secured a scholarship for a two-year master's program in Taiwan.
The mayor praised Edmayelle’s parents for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout her studies.
