The UA Gender and Development Office will join the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children starting on November 25, 2023 until December 12, 2023.

Anent to this, the UA GAD Office invites you to join the Infographic Design Contest as part of the participation of the Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children.

Showcase your creativity and help spread awareness about this important cause! Let's work together to make a difference!

The following is the mechanics and criteria for the Infographic Design Contest presented to you by the University of Antique - Gender and Development Office.

Submission of entries will start on November 21, 2023 until November 24, 2023.

Amidst the profound discussion of Prof. Rowena Somcio Cabrillos on "Safe Spaces and Sexual Harassment", captivated all graduating students as the resource speaker during the Career Session program held last November 15-16, 2023 by the UA Career Placement and Services Office.

Her engaging presentation underscored the significance of creating and maintaining safe environments while addressing the challenges posed by sexual harassment. The discussion also played a vital role in fostering dialogue and empowering individuals to advocate for safe spaces within educational and professional settings.

𝗚𝗔𝗗 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗚𝗗𝗚 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

In preparation for the attachments of the university attributed program for the GPB FY 2024, GAD Director, Prof. Rowena S. Cabrillos sent a Notice of Meeting for September 28, 2023 to discuss the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) Project Profile and Checklist.

In addition to assessing or reassessing gender development challenges, HGDG ensures that projects and programs represent gender equality and women's empowerments. It is necessary to carry out Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) and examine the HGDG Principles to achieve gender-responsive goals.

UA Gender and Development Office conducts the Planning and Budgeting Training Workshop on September 26-27, 2023 at Coop Oceanview Resort, Barbaza, Antique, in preparation for the GAD Plan and Budget FY 2024 submission to Philippine Commission on Women.

Unit heads and college deans attended the said activity with Dr. Pablo S. Crespo, Jr. and newly designated Director of Gender and Development Unit, Prof. Rowena S. Cabrillos.

Resource speakers, Ms. Fe Q. Salcedo (GAD Independent Consultant and PCW Gender Resource Pool Member) and Ms. Jeal M. Solis (COA Region VI State Auditor III) discussed the importance of Gender Analysis, Gender Mainstreaming, and equipped the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop gender-sensitive and gender-responsive GAD agendas and budget plans to ensure that GAD is mainstreamed and the 5% GAD fund is judiciously utilized.
