My collection is about womanhood. And what makes it as meaningful as it is. And how ironic the entire existence of womanhood is.
We are to see our bodies as these divine things that can bring life into the world and sustain it, yet we're not supposed to be proud of it or show it off and exist as we are because in some people's eyes it exists merely to fetishize, refusing to see it as anything else other than how they wish to.
Simply objects, seeing women through a lens filtered to fit their fantasies.
In this collection, I made parallels between
The nuances of womanhood and the feeling of being in a hospital how uneasy, paranoid and restraining the atmosphere of a hospital feels like. Using bandages, gauzes. And wound dressings as visual references.
