๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค *International Collaboration for Innovation and Excellence!*

We are thrilled to announce the successful exploratory and collaboration meeting between Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan, and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) College of Engineering, held on June 5, 2024.

The event featured distinguished attendees from both universities, including MCUT President Thu-Hua Liu, PUP Vice-President for Research, Extension and Development Dr. Ruby Gapasin, Dean of PUP College of Engineering Dr. Remedios Ado, Dean of MCUT Office of International Affairs Chieh-Lan Li, and heads of engineering departments from both institutions. Organized by the Office of International Affairs, this landmark event marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering academic and research collaborations.

Engaging presentations and discussions covered potential collaboration areas such as faculty and student exchange, scholarship grants, visiting lectures, benchmarking practices and other internationalization activities. The MoU signing signifies a strengthened partnership that will create invaluable opportunities for both institutions.

A heartfelt thank you to all our esteemed delegates and attendees for their participation and commitment to this exciting new chapter. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter, more innovative future!

We invite faculty members, graduate students, extension workers, community development workers, and representatives from NGOs, peopleโ€™s organizations, academic institutions, and industries to participate.

Join us from October 15 โ€“ 18, 2024, at the Development Academy of the Philippines, Tagaytay City. The theme of this year's conference is "Empowering Communities Through Innovative Extension Practices: Bridging Gaps, Transforming Lives, Inspiring Change".

On May 26, 2024, sunday, PUP Taguig and Boeryong Development Association (BODA) from Korea held an exploratory meeting with the theme "KR and PHL: Forging Strong Alliance for Global Educational Opportunities." It was an honor to have BODA President Dr. Seung Yong Uhm, PUP Vice President for Campuses Prof. Pascualito B. Gatan, PUP Taguig Campus Director Dr. Marissa B. Ferrer, and other faculty members and staff in attendance. Both parties are thrilled about the promising partnership ahead!

The event commenced with VP Gatan's opening remarks, setting the tone for fruitful discussions to come. Dr. Ferrer then elaborated on the purpose and rationale behind this alliance, emphasizing the mutual benefits it promises. Prof. Jangmi Kim, the International Affairs Coordinator, showcased the potential of Korean language classes in enhancing cross-cultural understanding.

Dr. Seung Yong Uhm, President of BODA, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the shared goals and vision of both institutions. The APAIE 2024 Conference and Exhibition, held from March 4th to 8th at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in Australia, was a significant event for the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). Originating over 20 years ago in South Korea, this annual gathering has evolved into a pivotal platform for educators worldwide to convene, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration.

With the theme โ€œCollaborating for Sustainable Impact: Partnerships Across the Asia Pacific,โ€ this yearโ€™s event underscored the importance of collective action in addressing contemporary challenges. Hosted by five universities in Western Australia, the conference welcomed over 2,500 delegates from various corners of the globe.

The Philippines made a notable presence at APAIE 2024, led by representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Universities such as Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) showcased their commitment to delivering quality education.

Among the Philippine delegates, PUP stood out for its active engagement. Representatives like Dr. Jonna Karla C. Bien and Ms. Felicitas C. Trinidad participated in networking sessions and discussions, demonstrating PUPโ€™s eagerness to establish international partnerships.

PUP also seized opportunities to engage with EduCanada and participate in roundtable discussions alongside Philippine and Canadian universities. These engagements allowed PUP to highlight its strengths, learn from others, and explore potential collaborations.

On January 26, 2024, the Office of International Affairs and the Department of English, Foreign Languages and Linguistics (DEFLL) hosted an event titled "PUP-UNPAM Courtesy Call and General Lecture on Best Internationalization Practices.โ€

The event celebrated the achievements of the collaboration between PUP and the University of the Pamulang (UNPAM). It is a great honor to invite the people behind the successful partnerships between the two universities. A warm welcome to our esteemed guests Dr. Pranoto, S.E.,M.M, the President of UNPAM, Dr. E.
