Sanctioned by Asian Marching Band Confederation and World Marching Band Organization, Musiko: The Grandest Marching Arts Competition in the Philippines serves as the highlight of Bakood Festival 2023 and 352nd Founding Anniversary of Bacoor – the Marching Band Capital of the Philippines.

DLP joins the whole Philippine marching arts industry in mourning the untimely passing of one of its most prominent figures.

Manuel Los Añes or as many call him "Sir Manny", is truly one of the revolutionaries of Philippine marching arts. Spearheading numerous innovations and ideas that has greatly impacted the landscape of the local activity.

Your contributions to the development of our beloved activity through your teaching and mentoring is unparalleled.

We offer our deepest sympathies to his family, students, friends, and loved ones. You will be forever remembered, Sir Manny. 🕊️

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐍!

Isaac De Alva III, also known as Chuck, is the Current Vice-President of Percussive Arts Society Philippine Chapter. He is also one of the founders and current board of director of the DrumLines of the Philippines (DLP). He's from the province of Camarines Norte and influenced by the festive culture of marching bands in the Bicol Region. This opened him in the world of music, he played drum set in various bands with different genres and styles.

One of his notable characteristics is the mind set of always striving for more. He spearheaded the UST Yellow Jackets Drumline who competed internationally in 2016 and won the National Drumline Championships twice (2017 & 2018). He travels around the country and teaches marching bands. Now, he is a freelance percussion arranger, trainer, instructor and lecturer around the Philippines.

He is a trained and internationally certified adjudicator for music performances sanctioned by Asian Marching Band Confederation and Drum Corp Asia. He judged various competitions provincial, regional and national competitions around the country.

Meet him at 𝐒howmanship 𝐁eyond 𝐑hythm: A Bacoor Marching Arts Workshop this June 24 and 25, 2023!

This workshop is presented by the City Government of Bacoor and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, in partnership with the Color Guard Alliance of the Philippines and the Percussive Arts Society (Philippine Chapter) and part of the 11th Cityhood Anniversary Celebration of Bacoor - the Marching Band Capital of the Philippines.

The Philippine chapter of the Percussive Arts Society was created at a less than opportune time: months before the pandemic. Instead of shelving the project, however, its members made full use of the online sphere. Their efforts were recently rewarded when the group was recognized as one of the Percussive Arts Society’s outstanding chapters for the year 2021. Returning to MAESTRO FILIPINO (Sat 1200, Mon 00, Thu 2000), chapter president Saturnino Tiamson, along with vice president Isaac de Alva III, broadcasting manager Ryan Peralta, and Ernie Severino, spend time with DZFE’s Daniel to talk about this achievement, as well as the group’s activities, plans, and challenges.
