If theater is to express and not to impress, then music is to the soul what words are to the mind. Then definitely there's a connection between theater and music, and that is the soul in your field of expression. Theater actors do act, sing, dance, and even do other things not mentioned.
Here's a compilation of videos from the Workshop on Music for Theater Actors.

"The mission of the theater, after all, is to change, to raise the consciousness of people to their human possibilities.""βArthur Miller
We would like to congratulate the actors who are newly graduates and now officially part of the University Theatre Guildβalumni.
Always remember the responsibilities you carry with you as a theater actor. Remember the role you play in the world as an actor? You are an "artist" with great power of influence. A "community leader" who is always enthusiastic to serve others. You are a "teacher" who inspires others' extrinsic motivation to learn. An "organizer" who provides ongoing directions and guidance. Lastly, you are a "researcher" who offers a particular and unique perspective on the work of art from inside-out as well as outside-in.
We wish that success keeps following all of you in everything that you do. Dream new dreams, embark on who you are, embrace life with passion, and keep reaching for the stars. Shine on and go for it! π

Dear Concerned Parties,
We wish to address an important matter that has recently come to our attention regarding the artistic properties of the former University Theater Guild Moderator Ms. Rosalie Escala-Sharif. It has been noted that there have been requests to utilize her artistic works in contexts that are unrelated to her as an artist. We feel compelled to remind everyone of the significance of respecting Ms. Sharif's artistic achievements and ensuring that her work is used appropriately and in accordance with intellectual property laws.
Ms. Sharif's artistic accomplishments are the result of her hard work, determination, and passion for the arts. Each piece of her artwork represents a unique expression of her creativity and talent. Therefore, it is essential to acknowledge and honor the effort and dedication she has invested in her craft.
In light of this, we encourage all individuals and entities involved in matters related to Ms. Sharif's work to refrain from using her artistic products and achievements in contexts that are unrelated to her. It is important to uphold the integrity of her artistic identity and ensure that her work is treated with the respect it deserves.
Furthermore, we would like to highlight the legal protections afforded to creators under intellectual property laws. In the Philippines, the Intellectual Property Code (Republic Act No. 8293) grants automatic protection to authors, artists, and other creators for their literary and artistic creations. This protection extends to a wide range of works, including books, musical compositions, films, paintings, sculptures, and computer programs.
While registration and deposit of works are not mandatory, authors and artists have the option to file for copyright registration with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). This provides them with additional legal safeguards and ensures the recognition of their rights as creators.
In conclusion, we urge all parties involved to adhere to the principles of intellectual property law and respect the artistic integrity of Ms. Rosalie Escala-Sharif's work. Let us work together to preserve and honor her contributions to the arts community while upholding the legal rights and protections afforded to creators.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
University Theatre Guild - Alumni
