News Report Regarding Influx of Tourists in Galiyat by
The Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) had the privilege of hosting the Senior Management Course officers from the National Institute of Management Peshawar (NIM) on 25th June 2024 at Nathiagali.
The officers, comprising BPS 19 to 20 promoting groups, were received by Assistant Director Admin GDA Mr. Ihtesham Khan. The visit aimed to familiarize the officers with GDA's initiatives, projects, and operations.
A comprehensive presentation highlighted GDA's objectives, achievements, and future plans. The presentation was followed by an interactive question-answer session, where the officers engaged with GDA officials, seeking insights into various aspects of the authority's functioning.
The event concluded with a note of thanks and a shield presentation ceremony, where the directing staff of NIM and GDA exchanged tokens of appreciation.

Director General Galiyat Development Authority (GDA), Mr. Shahrukh Ali, has been actively overseeing the GDA's efforts to facilitate tourists and ensure the cleanliness and safety of Galiyat during the Eid holidays.
Cleanliness Initiatives: Comprehensive waste collection efforts have been implemented across Galiyat to manage both general waste and sacrificial remains.
Sanitation Facilities: Public washrooms have been fully operational to enhance convenience for tourists.
Infrastructure Improvements: Water supply systems have been ensured operational, and street lights have been repaired to maintain a safe and well-lit environment for both tourists and the local community during nighttime.
Parks and Recreation: Parks have been rehabilitated to provide tourists with enjoyable and engaging activities.
Roadside Cleanliness: Sweepers have been deployed throughout Galiyat for efficient roadside waste collection.
On the direction of Director General GDA Mr. Shahrukh Ali, Galiyat Development Authority Field and Sanitation staff have commenced a cleanliness operation in Galiyat. In an effort to keep Galiyat clean and green, the sanitation staff has been actively collecting waste and offals of sacrificial animals on the first day of Eid, ensuring proper disposal of all waste.
Galiyat Development Authority (GDA), in collaboration with the Food Science and Technology Department, University of Haripur, organized a Food Safety Awareness Walk in the scenic region of Galiyat yesterday June 12th. This event aimed to emphasize the importance of food safety in promoting a healthy lifestyle.

DG Galiyat Development Authority (GDA), Mr Shahrukh Ali, accompanied by the Assistant Director Technical, visited Galiyat today to inspect the progress of several ongoing projects aimed at enhancing tourist facilities in the region.
During his visit, Mr Shahrukh Ali conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing repairs of the main BNA road, ensuring that the work is progressing as planned, he also visited Plaza Park and Donga Gali Park, two key recreational spots currently undergoing renovation, which included upgrades to park facilities, improvements in sanitation, and the installation of public washrooms. These enhancements are part of GDA's tourist facilitation to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for visitors to Galiyat.
GDA field staff is working on painting and restoring garbage bins for the upcoming season. The authority facilitates tourism and advises tourists to travel responsibly and dispose of their garbage in bins.

GDA Technical Team started Debris Clearance Operation across Galiyat
On the direction of Director General GDA, Mr. Shahrukh Ali, the GDA Technical Team has initiated a comprehensive debris clearance operation across Galiyat, specifically in the PK-37 and PK-38 regions. This initiative aims to facilitate tourists visiting Galiyat, support the local community, and ease traffic congestion.

With the onset of the summer season in Galiyat, the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) has initiated an anti-encroachment drive under the directions of Advisor to CM KP on Culture & Tourism Mr Zahid Chanzeb. This drive, targeting Nathiagali and Dongagali bazaars, aims to facilitate tourists and prevent traffic congestion caused by illegal parking, road obstructions, and the dumping of construction materials.
The anti-encroachment operation is being led by the Director Administration GDA, along with the Director Tourism GDA, GDA Building Control Authority staff, field staff, DSP Galiyat and personnel from the KP Police Department.
The primary goal is to clear illegal encroachments from roads, remove construction materials, and ensure smooth traffic flow for both tourists and the local community.
Heavy fines have been imposed on violators to enforce compliance and mitigate traffic issues in the Galiyat region.

Public Notice
To facilitate tourists visiting Galiyat, avoid traffic congestion, and ensure smooth traffic flow, the Advisor to the Chief Minister KP on Culture and Tourism has imposed a ban on vehicles carrying construction materials to Galiyat during weekends. These vehicles cause traffic congestion, and disturbance to tourists and the local community.
1. No vehicle carrying construction materials shall be allowed to enter the Galiyat region on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
2. No construction machinery will be allowed to enter the Galiyat region.
3. Dumping construction materials on the road, which hinders traffic flow, is strictly prohibited.
4. The ban is enforced from 6:00 AM Friday to 6:00 AM Monday.
5. Violations of this notification will attract penalties as per relevant laws and regulations.
Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) held a farewell ceremony today to honour five esteemed employees retiring after many years of dedicated service. This event celebrated the remarkable contributions of these individuals to the GDA.
Director General GDA, Mr. Shahrukh Ali, accompanied by the Director Administration, the Director Tourism, and the entire GDA staff, attended the ceremony. In his address, DG GDA commended the retiring employees for their unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions to the Authority. The retiring employees expressed their gratitude through farewell speeches.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of shields, gifts, and certificates by the Director General and GDA staff as tokens of appreciation for the retiring employees' exceptional service.
The GDA extends its best wishes to the retiring employees for a healthy and happy retirement.
The GDA Board of Authority (BOA) meeting was held on May 16th, 2024, at the Pakistan Secretariat, Planning Commission Islamabad. The honourable Chairman Board of Authority GDA, Mr. Jehanzeb Khan, chaired the meeting. The Board Members, Secretary of Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Commissioner of Hazara Division, Director General GDA Mr. Shahrukh Ali, Local MPA Mr. Rajab Ali Abbasi, Director Administration GDA, and other officers from GDA attended the meeting.
An excavator operated by C&W overturned in a ditch due to brake failure while working at Bakot Road, Nathiagali.
On the direction of the DG Galiyat Development Authority, GDA staff and Rescue 1122 promptly responded and reached the site. During the relief operation, three individuals were rescued in injured conditions and shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad for treatment. Among the injured, two are residents of village Desal and one from village Khan.
A delegation of women officers from LG&CD Punjab, led by Special Secretary Madam Asia Gul, visited Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) for an exchange visit organized by PMDFC and GIZ.
The Assistant Director Admin, Mr. Ihtesham Khan, welcomed the delegation and briefed them on GDA's municipal service delivery mechanism, initiatives, and projects.
The visit aimed to:
- Build capacity for LGCD Department officers and local government stakeholders
- Share knowledge and best practices
- Foster mutual cooperation and collaboration between LG&CD Department Punjab and GDA
- Replicate successful models of GDA in Punjab
The presentation was followed by a Q&A session and ended with a shield presentation as a token of appreciation.
