Violence against women and girls (VAWG) is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world today. It remains largely unreported and unpunished, with impunity rates high.

VAWG takes many forms, including physical, sexual, psychological and economic violence. It can occur in public or in private, and can be perpetrated by strangers, acquaintances, or family members.

The consequences of VAWG for women and girls are devastating. It can lead to physical and mental health problems, social isolation, and even death. It can also have a negative impact on their families and communities.

There are many things that can be done to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls. Governments, communities, and individuals all have a role to play.

Governments can take steps to create laws and policies that protect women and girls from violence, and to ensure that these laws and policies are enforced. They can also provide support services for victims of violence, and work to change the social norms that contribute to violence against women and girls.

On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, let us all stand up against VAWG and commit to working together to create a world where all women and girls are safe and free from violence.

Here are some things you can do to help eliminate violence against women and girls:

* Challenge sexist attitudes and behaviors.
* Support women and girls who have experienced violence.
* Get involved in organizations that are working to eliminate VAWG.

World Diabetes Day (WDD) is celebrated on November 14th every year to raise awareness about diabetes and its management. It is the world's largest diabetes awareness campaign, reaching a global audience of over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries.

The theme for World Diabetes Day is **Access to Diabetes Care**. This theme highlights the importance of ensuring that all people with diabetes have access to the quality care and support they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects how your body turns food into energy. There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which your body attacks the cells that produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps your body use glucose for energy. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and is caused by a combination of genetics and lifestyle factors.

Diabetes can lead to a number of serious complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, blindness, and amputation. However, with proper management, people with diabetes can live long and healthy lives.

There are a number of things you can do to reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, including:

* Eating a healthy diet
* Getting regular exercise
* Maintaining a healthy weight
* Avoiding smoking

If you have diabetes, it is important to follow your doctor's treatment plan and to make healthy lifestyle choices. This will help you manage your blood sugar levels and reduce your risk of complications.

On World Diabetes Day, we can all do our part to raise awareness about diabetes and its management. We can also support people with diabetes by advocating for access to quality care and support.

World Infant Protection Day is celebrated annually on November 7th to raise awareness about infant protection and to promote the rights of infants. Infants are the most vulnerable members of society, and they rely on adults for their care and protection. This day is an opportunity to highlight the importance of providing infants with a safe and loving environment, and to promote policies that support infant health and well-being.

Despite significant progress in recent decades, infant mortality rates remain high in many parts of the world. Every day, over 7,000 infants die before their first birthday. The most common causes of infant death include preventable diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhea, and malaria. Malnutrition and lack of access to quality healthcare are also major contributing factors.

World Infant Protection Day is an important reminder that we all have a role to play in protecting infants. We can do this by:

* Providing infants with access to quality healthcare and nutrition.
* Educating parents and caregivers about infant safety and care practices.
* Promoting policies that support family-friendly workplaces and affordable childcare.
* Advocating for investments in programs that improve maternal and child health.

**Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF)** is a severe viral hemorrhagic fever (VHF) caused by the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV). The virus is primarily transmitted to humans through the bite of infected ticks, but it can also be transmitted through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids.

**Causes**

CCHFV is primarily transmitted to humans through the bite of infected ticks, particularly those of the genus Hyalomma. These ticks are found in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The virus can also be transmitted through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids, including through sexual contact.

**Effects**

The incubation period for CCHFV is usually 1–3 days, but it can be up to 9 days. After an incubation period, the illness begins abruptly with fever, muscle ache, dizziness, neck pain, backache, headache, sore eyes, and photophobia (sensitivity to light). There may be nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and sore throat early on, followed by sharp mood swings and confusion.

In severe cases, CCHFV can lead to hemorrhaging, organ failure, and death. The case fatality rate for CCHFV is 10–40%.

**Treatments**

There is no specific treatment for CCHFV. Treatment is supportive and may include intravenous fluids, pain relievers, and antibiotics to treat secondary infections.

**Prevention**

The best way to prevent CCHFV is to avoid contact with infected ticks. This can be done by wearing protective clothing, using insect repellent, and avoiding areas where ticks are known to be present. People who work with livestock or animals should take extra precautions to avoid contact with infected blood or bodily fluids.
