Glimpses - Inauguration of Annual Flower Exhibition 2024 at Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus, IUB. The exhibition inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Worthy Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized by office of the Estate Care, IUB. ✨💐

The Department of Political Science IUB held an oath taking ceremony on February 29, 2024 to mark the beginning of the new cabinet of Political Science Club. The ceremony was attended by the faculty, staff, and students of the department, as well as the Head of Department.The oath was administered by Chairman of the department Prof. Dr. Syed Mussawar Hussain Bukhari, who reminded the members of club, their responsibilities and duties as political science representatives. He also congratulated them on their achievements and encouraged them to pursue excellence in their leadership . The students recited the oath in unison, pledging to uphold the values of honesty, integrity, democracy, and justice in their academic lives. The ceremony concluded with speech of Chairman of the department, who motivate the Club member. He also expressed his hope that the oath taking ceremony would inspire the students to follow their passion and fulfill their potential.

Kicking off two action-packed days of athleticism and camaraderie at the Sports Gala 2024 that was organized by Computer Science Students Club presented by department of computer science, IUB 🏆 From cricket to table tennis, 100m race to Football, badminton to chess & Ludo. Thanks to everyone who joined us for two days of fierce competition, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments. Here's to celebrating teamwork, sportsmanship, and the thrill of victory!

Highlights of Sports Gala, organised by the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, on 29 February, 2024 featuring a lineup of exciting sports. Students showcased their talents in these spirited competitions, promising athleticism and camaraderie.

Department of Pharmacy Practice, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) and Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) with the partnership of District Drug Control Unit, Bahawalpur, hosted a one-day event focused on 'an introduction to advance pharmacy services at tertiary care hospitals'. The theme of the event, "Exploring the Role of Clinical & Hospital Pharmacist," aimed to highlight the crucial contributions of pharmacists in clinical settings.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a tone of reverence and solemnity. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Director ORIC, welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of integrating advanced pharmacy services for enhanced patient care. He also provided insights into the historical evolution of clinical and hospital pharmacist roles.
The event featured two distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and experiences. Dr. Saba Javed, Neonatal & Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, and ASHP certified Pediatric Pharmacist, delivered two insightful lectures. She enlightened graduating pharmacists on the role of clinical pharmacists in pediatrics, infectious diseases, and intensive care units (ICU). Additionally, Dr. Saba Javed provided an overview of job descriptions for hospital pharmacists versus clinical pharmacists and highlighted various international certifications available for pharmacy students and graduating pharmacists.
The second speaker, Dr. Sundus Ayub Awan, ASHP Certified Compounding Sterile Preparation Pharmacist at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, addressed the audience on the compounding of sterile and non-sterile products, along with an in-depth lecture on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN).
The event was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Allied Health Sciences at IUB, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered concluding remarks. Prof. Dr. Qaisar Jabeen, Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacology, and Dr. Adnan Akram, Drug Controller, Bahawalpur, also attended as distinguished guests.
A highly interactive session was conducted for students, allowing them to engage with the speakers and receive comprehensive answers to their queries, thereby enriching their understanding of advanced pharmacy services.
As part of a policy advocacy study, pharmacists from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Drug Control Unit Bahawalpur, Civil Hospital Bahawalpur, and Shifa International Hospital Islamabad convened to discuss advanced pharmacy services in southern Punjab. This collaborative effort aimed to examine current practices, identify challenges, and propose recommendations for enhancing pharmaceutical services in the region. Through the exchange of insights and experiences among professionals representing diverse sectors of the healthcare system, the discussion shed light on opportunities to improve patient care, optimize medication management, and strengthen regulatory frameworks.
Mr. Jamshaid Akbar, Incharge Students Affairs (ISA), Department of Pharmacy Practice, along with his dedicated team from PharmD Final Professional and Pharmacy Practice Club, made significant contributions to the organization and ex*****on of this impactful session.

Commissioner Bahawalpur, Dr. Ehtsham Anwar, in collaboration with the Director-General of the Department of Archaeology Punjab, Mr Shozeb Saeed, officially launched the excavation project of Ganweriwala, aimed at uncovering the rich cultural heritage of the Hakra Valley Civilization.

Recognizing the significance of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) as a major stakeholder in the region, it was invited to participate as an academic partner in the project. Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Shazia Anjum, represented IUB at the inauguration ceremony, accompanied by Dr. Rubina Shoaib, Chairperson of Pakistan Studies, and Dr. Abdullah, Director of CIDS.

Mr. Waqar Mushataq, a faculty member of IUB and the focal person for the archaeological excavation project at Ghanveriwala, played a leading role alongside the Commissioner's office. Prof Dr. Shazia expressed her satisfaction at IUB's pivotal role in initiating excavation efforts in the region, noting that the Commissioner's office and Punjab Archaeology are now following in their footsteps by exploring another significant site. She emphasized the trust placed in IUB by both departments and expressed optimism about future collaborations to preserve the heritage of South Punjab.

Another achievement of IUB Performing Arts Society at Divisional Level Drama Competition!

IUB Performing Arts Society, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Jabeen, Dr. Qamar Uz Zaman and Dr. Ali Azam emerged victorious at the Divisional Level Drama Competition held on 3rd March, 2024. The event was hosted by All Punjab Arts Council Bahawalpur and brought together top talents from the region. IUB PAS attained success by securing 1st position.

The winning act, titled " خاموشی کے سائے " captivated the audience and judges with its compelling storyline, phenomenal acting, and close attention to detail.
This victory not only reflects team's dedication to the art of drama but also showcases the vibrant culture of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

The Department of Livestock Management organized a "One Day Hands-on Training Workshop on Milk and Feed Analyses." The workshop attracted a large number of university participants and industry professionals, eager to enhance their knowledge and analytical capabilities.
The workshop provided essential training in milk and feed analysis techniques, improving awareness about quality standards, enhancing analytical skills of the participants and enabling them educate the other stakeholders . Participants also expressed their appreciation for the department's initiative and its positive impact on the livestock sector.
Dr. Muhammad Naeem Tahir, Chairman of the Department of Livestock Management and his team received special recognition and appreciation for organizing this workshop.
Worthy dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mansoor honored the event with his presence and awarded certificates among the participants on successful completion of the training.

On 28.02.2024, a delegation from top ranked UK’s BBP University, specialized for the provision of professional legal education, participated highly informative seminar in collaboration with Law Department of the Islamia University Bahawalpur. The Chairman Law Department- Mr. Jibran Jamshed along with Professor Dr. Saeed Ahmed Buzdar welcomed the BBP University’s Head of International Operation Barrister Daryl Connel Chew, Dr. Shahzad Anwar CEO Scorp and Dr. Kashif Shahzad Director Study Icon and. Mr. Connel Chew explained the IUB’s student about the BBP Law School, Bar, Solicitors, Qualified Law Transfer Programme and support for International Student.
It was agreed that IELTS conditions for IUB’s students will be waived subject to T&Cs. The seminar was sponsored by Study Icon Bahawalpur Mr. Faheem and Saleem Ajmal of Study Icon Bahawalpur Sponsored the seminar and lunch was subsequently held at LA Tas Ka hotel with distinguish guests from BBP University.
On the event, the BPP representative StudyIcon has awarded on spot scholarship that’s costs 2 Lacs PKR to more than 200 Students who attended the event and fulfills the entry requirements, admissions offer and IELTS or English language exemption to the students eligible.

Director Alumni Affairs, Dr. Shahid Mahmood along with his team from the Directorate of Alumni Affairs, visited the office of distinguished alumnus, Mr. Muhammad Shaji Ur Rehman who has recently been appointed as the registrar of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The purpose of this visit was to extend congratulations to him on his new role, present Alumni Souvenir and engage in discussions regarding alumni-related matters. Being an alumnus of the university himself, Mr. Shaji Ur Rehman attentively listened to the team's ideas, offered valuable suggestions, and expressed his complete support in enhancing the University’s alumni network. The meeting was enriched with insightful ideas, showcasing a genuine commitment from both parties to enhance the relationship between the university and its alumni.

A fruitful discussion was conducted in an online International Webinar among Scholars about academic cooperation and research collaboration. The webinar, hosted by the Department of Islamic Studies, Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan and Ilmu al Qur’an and Tafsir, IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, Indonesia. Dr. Zia also presented brief discussion on the quality of research papers and strategies for submission to reputable International Research Journal.

During the webinar, it was unanimously agreed upon by the Department of Qur'ānic Studies The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Department of Islamic Studies, Ghazi University, DG Khan, and Ilmu al Qur’an and Tafsir, IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, Indonesia, to initiate collaboration from the upcoming Holy Ramadan.

The scholars also approved a series of seminars for online faculty exchange to promote mutual cooperation, including imparting online lectures in various countries. Additionally, mutual efforts for faculty development and research ideas to address modern challenges faced by religious studies departments were discussed and endorsed.

In conclusion, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz wrapped up the meeting, by expressing gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions. The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the beginning of a promising collaboration between the participating institutions.

Under the Federal Assistance Award of Tabeer, a dynamic capacity-building project aimed at enhancing the knowledge base, skills, and capabilities of Business Incubation Centers (BICs) across universities in Punjab, Business Incubator Center, Islamia University, Bahawalpur has been shortlisted for Tabeer Project. on this occasion an agreement have been signed between the Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar and Ms Minahil Zia, Lead Community Engagement & Investor Relations, LUMS Incubator. This Project will help in Recognizing the pivotal role incubators play in fostering innovation, nurturing startups, and contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is eager to engage your incubator in this initiative.This Project was earned by BIC through the vision of Prof.Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean FOMS&C. Prof.Dr. Areeba Khan (Acting Director IBMAS) Mr. Zaid Siddiqui (Incharge BIC-IUB) and Mr Shaheer Rizvi (Advisor BIC-IUB) was also present.
