Ding D**g Cake

Decadent Chocolate Ding D**g Cake

Ingredients:

For the cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup hot water
For the filling:
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the ganache:
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Stir in hot water until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
For the filling, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread the filling on one cake layer, then top with the second layer.
For the ganache, heat heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
Pour the ganache over the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Let set before serving.
