Cerebral palsy is usually caused by a problem that affects the development of a baby's brain while it's growing in the womb. These include: damage to part of the brain.
All children with cerebral palsy have problems with movement and posture, and some also have some level of intellectual disability, seizures, and abnormal physical sensations or perceptions, as well as other medical disorders. Children with CP also may have impaired vision or hearing, and language, and speech problems.

What are the early signs of cerebral palsy?
1) Developmental delays. The child is slow to reach milestones such as rolling over, sitting, crawling, and walking.
2) Abnormal muscle tone. Body parts are floppy or too stiff.
3) Abnormal posture.

SCOLIOSIS:

Scoliosis is a sideways and an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine.
Scoliosis is defined by the Cobb's angle of spine curvature in the coronal plane and is often accompanied by vertebral rotation in the transverse plane and hypokyphosis in the sagittal plane. The rotation component starts when the scoliosis becomes more pronounced.
Scoliosis is usually confirmed through a physical examination, an x-ray, spinal radiograph, CT scan or MRI.

PLANTAR FASCIITIS

It is an irritating pain at the bottom of the foot (plantar fascia). Plantar fascia is a thick connective tissue that runs from heel to toe. Plantar fascia’s function is to support the arch of foot by acting like a bowstring, shock-absorbing mechanism and stabilizes foot when toe lifts off.

Causes of Plantar Fasciitis:

– Prolong standing posture
– Foot arches problem (Flatfoot, High Arch)
– Overweight or sudden weight gain
– Repetitive loading onto foot (especially running long distance, uneven surfaces or downhill)
– Tight Achilles tendon or calf muscles
– Inappropriate footwear e.g thin soles or lack of arch support
– Medical condition such as Arthritis, Diabetes

RADIAL NERVE PALSY/ WRIST DROP

Wrist drop is a medical condition in which the wrist and the fingers cannot extend at the metacarpophalangeal joints. The wrist remains partially flexed due to an opposing action of flexor muscles of the forearm. As a result, the extensor muscles in the posterior compartment remain paralyzed.

*Symptoms include:*
-Weakness of the wrist and fingers.
-Inability to straighten the wrist or fingers.
-Numbness or tingling of the hand.
-Pain in the wrist or hand.
-Muscle atrophy in the wrist or hand.

ANKLE SPRAIN INJURY

Ankle sprains occur when the foot twists or turns beyond its normal range of movement, causing the ligaments connecting the bones of the leg, ankle, and foot to overstretch or tear. Inversion-type, lateral ligament injuries represent approximately 85% of all ankle sprains.

Poor rehabilitation after an initial sprain increases the chances of this injury recurrence.

People who have an increased risk of spraining an ankle include younger athletes, members of the military, and anyone who frequently runs, jumps, and changes direction quickly, while performing an athletic activity ("cutting motion").
Physical therapists help people who have experienced ankle sprains reduce their pain; regain their strength, motion, and balance; return to normal activity levels; and avoid reinjury.
