April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month to raise awareness about oral cancer, its causes, symptoms, and treatment.

The primary aim of this event is to inform people about the importance of early detection and management of the disease.

Oral cancer is a type of cancer that usually affects the mouth, tongue, throat, and lips. It is a highly lethal cancer, with low survival rates even after treatment. Unfortunately, many people may not be aware of the risk factors involved, such as to***co use, excessive alcohol consumption, and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.

By raising awareness about oral cancer, this event encourages individuals to be more proactive in taking care of their oral health, such as regular dental checkups, quitting smoking or alcohol, and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The event also aims to provide support and resources to those affected by the disease and their families, as well as to educate healthcare providers on proper diagnosis and management.

Overall, the goal of International Oral Cancer Awareness Month is to reduce the incidence and mortality rates of oral cancer by increasing public awareness, advocacy, and research.
